A determination signal indicates whether each of a plurality of nozzles of a liquid ejection head is an abnormal nozzle. A controller stores, in a memory, information on a nozzle determined to be the abnormal nozzle among the plurality of nozzles; in response to receiving a particular signal and determining that the memory does not store abnormality flag information and that the number of the abnormal nozzle stored in the memory is larger than a first threshold value, control a recovery device to perform a recovery operation; and in response to receiving the particular signal and determining that the memory stores the abnormality flag information and that the number of the abnormal nozzle is larger than a second threshold value, control the recovery device to perform the recovery operation. The second threshold value is smaller than the first threshold value.

SWITCHING MECHANISM, FLOW PASSAGE SWITCHING MECHANISM, AND LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS
20220332122 · 2022-10-20 ·

A switching mechanism includes a first rotating body that performs forward rotation and reverse rotation by receiving a driving force transmitted from a driving source; and a second rotating body having convex portions provided on an outer circumference at intervals. The first rotating body has an engagement portion configured to move along the outer circumference of the second rotating body. When the first rotating body rotates in a forward direction, engagement of the engagement portion with the convex portion causes rotation of the second rotating body in the forward direction together with the first rotating body. When the first rotating body rotates in a reverse direction, the engagement portion moves along the outer circumference of the second rotating body so that the second rotating body does not rotate in the reverse direction. A first interval, which is at least one of the intervals, is larger than other intervals.

Inkjet Recording Apparatus and Method for Cleaning Inkjet Recording Apparatus

The present invention provides an inkjet recording device capable of automatically cleaning the head tip and a cleaning method for inkjet recording apparatus.

An inkjet recording apparatus has a printhead that receives a supply of ink and prints, a main unit that supplies said ink to said printhead, and a cleaning unit that has a cleaning tank into which said entire printhead is inserted and injects a cleaning solution from a cleaning nozzle to said printhead for cleaning. The cleaning unit has a cleaning nozzle that sprays cleaning liquid into the cleaning tank and a cleaning base section that has a housing section that accommodates the tip of the printhead and allows said cleaning liquid to flow into the housing section. The cleaning liquid is allowed to flow into the housing section to clean the tip of the printhead.
