A cleaning method of a liquid ejection head where recording element substrates having an ejection orifice forming-face having ejection orifice arrays which are aligned, and at least one array ejects a different recording liquid than another, includes wiping and preliminary ejection. In the wiping, a wiping member is caused to move along and wipe the arrays. In the preliminary ejection, before the wiping of the entire ejection orifice forming-face is completed, preliminary ejection from the wiped ejection orifices is started. The wiping and preliminary ejection are sequentially performed from a recording element substrate at one end to a recording element substrate at the other end.

COATING DEVICE AND WIPING METHOD

A coating device includes a head, a wiping mechanism, an arm, and a controller. The head includes a nozzle surface for discharging a coating material. The wiping mechanism wipes the nozzle surface. The arm holds the head. The controller controls movement of the head via the arm. The controller relatively moves the head with respect to the wiping mechanism to wipe the nozzle surface.

A printer includes a head, a flushing receiving member, a cap, a processor, and a memory. The head is provided with a nozzle surface intersecting a discharge direction and configured to move in a main scanning direction. The flushing receiving member is positioned in the discharge direction with respect to a movement path of the head in the main scanning direction. The cap is configured to closely adhere to the nozzle surface. The cap and the flushing receiving member are arranged in the main scanning direction. The memory stores computer-readable instructions that, when executed by the processor, instruct the processor to perform a process including flushing processing including a first flushing operation of discharging ink from the head toward the cap, and a second flushing operation of discharging the ink toward the flushing receiving member while moving the head in the main scanning direction.

A printer is provided with a first nozzle surface including a first nozzle row, a second nozzle surface including a second nozzle row positioned with respect to the first nozzle row in a main scanning direction, a receiver having a width smaller than an interval between the first nozzle row and the second nozzle row, and a driver. A processor of the printer causes the driver to perform a discharge driving to discharge ink from at least one of nozzles of one of the first nozzle row or the second nozzle row, and causes the driver to perform a non-discharge driving to not discharge ink from at least one of nozzles of the other of the first nozzle row or the second nozzle row, in a state of one of the first nozzle row or the second nozzle row being caused to face the receiver in a discharge direction.

A printer that includes a platen, a head, a support plate, and an absorption body. A print medium is placed on the platen. The head includes a nozzle surface and is configured to discharge ink, in a discharge direction, from the nozzle surface. The support plate is configured to support the head. The absorption body is provided on the discharge direction of the support plate. The absorption body is exposed to the platen and is configured to absorb liquid.

PRINTING APPARATUS

A printing apparatus includes a carriage, a carriage mover including a motor to move the carriage, a motor controller configured to control the motor, a power supply configured to selectively apply a first voltage or a second voltage to the motor controller, the second voltage being higher than the first voltage, and a transmitter to transmit a control signal for movement of the carriage when a predetermined control condition is satisfied. The first voltage is a voltage enabling the motor controller to move the carriage at a first speed by the motor. The second voltage is a voltage enabling the motor controller to move the carriage at a second speed by the motor, the second speed being higher than the first speed. The power supply applies the first voltage to the motor controller in a state where the transmitter transmits the control signal.

Inkjet recording apparatus

An inkjet recording apparatus includes a recording head, a housing, a cap unit, a protrusion and a guide part. The recording head has an ink ejecting port on a lower face. The housing supports the recording head. The cap unit includes a cap. The cap unit is inserted into a space below the recording head in a predetermined direction to be attached to the housing and to cover the lower face of the recording head with the cap. The protrusion is protruded from a lower portion of the housing on a rear side in the predetermined direction more downward than the lower face of the recording head. The guide part is formed in an upper portion of the cap unit on the rear side in the predetermined direction and comes into contact with the protrusion so as to guide insertion and removal of the cap unit.
