A recording portion has a nozzle surface. A first movement portion moves the recording portion in a first direction intersecting the nozzle surface. A second movement portion moves a first maintenance portion in a second direction along the nozzle surface. The recording portion is movable to a recording position at which recording is performed on a medium, and a first retreated position where the recording portion is retreated from the recording position. The first maintenance portion is movable to a maintenance position at which maintenance of the nozzle surface is performed and a second retreated position retreated from the maintenance position. When an error occurs, a control portion causes the recording portion to retreat away from the first maintenance portion in a first direction. Then, the first maintenance portion is caused to retreat in a second direction.

A printer includes a head having a nozzle face which ejects ink toward an object, a driving mechanism which moves the head in a first direction and a second direction approximately orthogonal to the first direction, a nozzle cap movable between a first position where the nozzle face is capped and a second position where the nozzle face is uncapped, and a lock mechanism which regulates movement of the head in the first direction and the second direction in the state where the nozzle cap is in the first position.

Liquid ejecting apparatus and recording system

A liquid ejecting apparatus including a transporting portion that transports a medium along a transport path, a liquid ejecting head that performs recording by ejecting, through a nozzle, a liquid onto the medium that is being transported, a mounting portion in which a liquid storage portion that stores the liquid supplied to the liquid ejecting head is mounted, and a heating portion that heats the medium on which the recording has been performed. The transport path includes an upper path positioned above the mounting portion in a vertical direction. After transporting and passing the medium, on which the recording has been performed, through the upper path, the transporting portion discharges the medium through a discharge port. The heating portion is provided above the mounting portion in the vertical direction and heats the medium transported through the upper path.

PRINT MODULE WITH AIR COOLING ARRANGEMENT

A print module includes: a body housing first and second opposed printed circuit boards (PCBs), each of the first and second PCBs having heat-generating electronic components; an air inlet and an air outlet positioned towards an upper part of the body; an air pathway extending between the air inlet and the air outlet; a plurality of heatsinks, each heatsink being thermally coupled with one of the heat-generating components and having an array of cooling fins extending into the air pathway; and an inkjet printhead receiving power and print data from at least one of the first and second PCBs. The inkjet printhead is positioned toward a lower part of the print module.

RECORDING DEVICE

A recording device includes a carriage that has a recording head that performs recording on a medium and a plurality of liquid cartridges that house a liquid to be ejected from the recording head, the plurality of liquid cartridges being arranged in a line in a direction that intersects the movement direction of the carriage and being provided with target detection units, and a detector that includes a moving part which moves in a direction that intersects the movement direction of the carriage and that, by the movement of the moving part, detects the residual amount of the liquid between the detector and each of the target detection units of the plurality of the liquid cartridges.
