PRINTER, NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM STORING COMPUTER-READABLE INSTRUCTIONS, AND PRINT METHOD

A printer includes a carriage including a first head and a second head at least partially overlapping in a sub-scanning direction, a first wiper for wiping the first head, and a second wiper for wiping the second head. The printer moves the first wiper to a first contact position where the first wiper is configured to contact the first head, and moves the second wiper to a second non-contact position where the second wiper is not configured to contact the second head. After moving the first wiper and the second wiper, the printer relatively moves the carriage to cause the first head to pass the first wiper at the first contact position.

Liquid ejecting apparatus and maintenance method for liquid ejecting apparatus

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes: a liquid ejecting portion configured to eject a first liquid from a nozzle; a liquid receiving portion configured to receive the first liquid discharged from the nozzle for a purpose of maintenance of the liquid ejecting portion in a state that a second liquid is stored therein; and a discharge portion configured to discharge a liquid stored in the liquid receiving portion. The liquid receiving portion includes: a liquid storing portion that stores the second liquid; a maintenance portion that maintains a liquid surface of the liquid stored in the liquid storing portion at an upper limit position above a discharge port at which the discharge portion discharges the liquid from the liquid storing portion; and a lip portion configured to contact the liquid ejecting portion. The liquid receiving portion is configured to cap a space in which the nozzle opens with the lip portion.

Wiping device

A wiping device is equipped with a wiping blade that wipes an ink ejection surface of a nozzle row of an ink jet head, a cleansing tank that stores a cleansing solution and in which the wiping blade is immersed, and a shower unit that sprays the cleansing solution onto the wiping blade.

A liquid discharge apparatus includes a head to discharge a liquid containing a solvent from a discharge port toward an object, a concentration detector to detect a vapor concentration of the solvent, and circuitry to causes the head to discharge the liquid from the discharge port while moving the discharge port of the head in a movement direction perpendicular to a discharge direction to discharge the liquid. When the vaper concentration is equal to or higher than a first threshold, the circuitry stops moving the head in the movement direction and causes the head to stop discharging the liquid from the discharge port. When the vaper concentration is less than a second threshold, the circuitry resumes moving the head in the movement direction from a stop position where the head stops moving in the movement direction and causes the head to resume discharging the liquid from the discharge port.

A wiping module includes a wiping portion and a cleaning portion. The wiping portion includes a wiping member wiping a liquid discharge head that discharges a liquid from a nozzle provided on a nozzle surface, a storage support portion supporting the wiping member and configured to store the liquid by the wiping, and a movement support portion mounting the storage support portion and configured to reciprocate along a wiping direction, which is a direction in which the wiping is performed. The cleaning portion cleans the wiping member. The cleaning portion includes a cleaning member and a guide portion guiding the cleaning member. The cleaning member is configured to follow a movement of the wiping portion in the wiping direction and to scrape off the liquid adhering to the wiping member while being guided by the guide portion.

Inkjet printing apparatus and treatment liquid holding unit

An inkjet printing apparatus includes: a print head having an ejection opening surface on which an ejection opening for ejecting ink is provided; a wiping unit configured to wipe the ejection opening surface; a moving unit configured to move the wiping unit in a first direction; and a treatment liquid holding portion having a holding member for holding a treatment liquid and an applying member for applying the treatment liquid to the wiping unit by coming into contact with the wiping unit, wherein a plurality of treatment liquid holding portions are arranged in a second direction crossing the first direction such that adjacent treatment liquid holding portions are not in contact with each other.

An inkjet printer includes a first ink head, an ink collector, and an intermittent flushing controller. The first ink head includes a first sub-head that includes a first nozzle to discharge first ink, a second sub-head that includes a second nozzle to discharge second ink different from the first ink, and a nozzle surface provided with the first nozzle and the second nozzle. The ink collector collects the ink discharged from the first ink head. The intermittent flushing controller performs an intermittent flushing operation for at least the first sub-head. The intermittent flushing operation involves repeating a first operation and a second operation for a predetermined number of iterations. The first operation involves discharging the first ink into the ink collector from the first nozzle a predetermined number of times. The second operation involves being on standby for a predetermined time without discharging the first ink from the first nozzle.

Method and cleaning unit for cleaning a print head

A cleaning unit for cleaning the nozzle plate of a print head of an inkjet printing device having cleaners with respective different levels of cleaning quality and respective different strengths of loading of the nozzle plate. The different cleaners for cleaning the nozzle plate are selected depending on a cleaning indicator in order to achieve an improved compromise between print quality and service life of the print head.
