MAINTENANCE SYSTEM USING FOAMING CLEANING BATH
A printhead maintenance system includes: an inkjet printhead; a carriage movable longitudinally along the printhead in a cleaning direction, the carriage having a maintenance member including: a fluid bath having a mouth opposing the nozzle face of the printhead, a primary fluid inlet at an upstream end of the fluid bath relative to the cleaning direction, a suction nozzle at a downstream end of the fluid bath relative to the cleaning direction and a pair of wipers flanking the fluid bath; and a traversing mechanism for traversing the carriage along the printhead. The maintenance member does not contact inkjet nozzles of the printhead; the wipers each comprise a wiper material for contacting respective parts of the printhead flanking a nozzle face; and the wiper material is air-permeable such that, in use, suction of air through the wiper material into the fluid bath generates a foam in the fluid bath.
Waste liquid collecting device, liquid ejecting apparatus, and maintenance method of liquid ejecting apparatus
A waste liquid collecting device is a device which is located to face a nozzle surface in which nozzles of a liquid ejecting portion are disposed, which includes a waste liquid receiving member to receive a liquid to be discharged from the nozzles, and which collects the liquid, and the waste liquid receiving member has dripping waste liquid receiving areas which are provided with through-holes and which receive the liquid to drip down after being discharged from the nozzles and staying on the nozzle surface and flushing receiving areas which are not provided with the through-holes and which receive the liquid to be ejected from the nozzles.
Liquid ejecting apparatus and maintenance method for liquid ejecting apparatus
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a wiping mechanism that includes a wiping portion configured to move in a wiping direction, in which a first nozzle surface and a second nozzle surface each provided with nozzles of a liquid ejecting portion are aligned, and to wipe the first nozzle surface and the second nozzle surface, and an isolation region in which the wiping portion is not brought into contact with the first nozzle surface and the second nozzle surface when a gap between the first and second nozzle surfaces and the wiping portion in an ejecting direction of liquid from the nozzles is a contact interval at which the first nozzle surface and the second nozzle surface are wiped is provided between the first nozzle surface and the second nozzle surface in the wiping direction.
Wiping device, head maintenance device, and liquid discharge apparatus
A wiping device includes a first web material, a second web material, and a pressing member. The second web material is different from the first web material. The pressing member presses the first web material and the second web material to a target to be wiped. The first web material and the second web material are overlaid on top of one another and pressed against the target to be wiped.
Ink Jet Recording Apparatus and Maintenance Method
The ink jet recording apparatus according to the present application includes a recording head including a nozzle for discharging an ink composition and a nozzle-forming surface having a discharge opening of the nozzle, a cleaning mechanism performing cleaning operation by ejecting the ink composition from the nozzle, and a wiping cleaning mechanism of wiping the nozzle-forming surface with an absorption member containing cellulose. The ink composition contains a pigment, a crosslinkable component, a surfactant, and water and has a contact angle of 50° or more on the nozzle-forming surface. The cleaning mechanism performs pressurized cleaning by applying a pressure to the inside of the recording head.
INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS
An inkjet recording apparatus includes an inkjet head that ejects ink from a nozzle and records an image; a wiping and cleaning mechanism that wipes a nozzle surface with a cleaning member, the inkjet head has the nozzle surface at which an ejection port of the nozzle of is formed; and a hardware processor that controls operation including the recording operation. the hardware processor performs dry maintenance control in which dry wiping using the wiping and cleaning mechanism is controlled, and wet maintenance control in which wet wiping using the wiping and cleaning mechanism and including wetting at least a part of a wiping surface of the cleaning member is controlled.
LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS AND MAINTENANCE METHOD OF LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting portion that has a common liquid chamber into which liquid flows, a plurality of individual liquid chambers communicating with the common liquid chamber, a nozzle communicating with the individual liquid chamber, a nozzle surface on which a plurality of the nozzles are open, and a discharge element, and that is configured to discharge the liquid from the nozzle toward a medium by driving the discharge element, estimates whether or not the liquid is can be discharged from the nozzle after performing a pressurization discharge operation of discharging the liquid from the nozzle by pressurizing the liquid in the common liquid chamber, and performs a flushing operation of discharging the liquid from the nozzle by driving the discharge element corresponding to the nozzle estimated to be able to discharge the liquid.
LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting portion configured to eject a liquid, a liquid collection device including a band-shaped member configured to come into contact with the liquid ejecting portion to wipe a liquid attached to the liquid ejecting portion, and a winding portion configured to wind up the band-shaped member, a temperature/humidity sensor configured to acquire temperature/humidity information related to a temperature and a humidity around the liquid collection device, and a control portion configured to cause the band-shaped member to come into contact with the liquid ejecting portion to wipe the liquid, and then cause the winding portion to wind up the band-shaped member. The control portion determines, based on the temperature/humidity information acquired by the temperature/humidity sensor, a winding length of the band-shaped member wound by the winding portion after the band-shaped member wipes the liquid.
PRINT HEAD SERVICING
A method comprising: soaking a portion of a web in a printing device with printing liquid from a first print head (110) of the printing device; and wiping at least one nozzle of a second print head (120) in the printing device with the soaked portion of the web. The method provides a servicing method for print heads in the printing device.
PRINTHEAD SERVICING
There is provided a maintenance apparatus to, while in a service zone, perform a cleaning operation of a set of printheads within a carriage. The maintenance apparatus comprises a cleaning structure and an actuation mechanism. The actuation mechanism is arranged to position the cleaning structure between an engaged configuration and a disengaged configuration. The disengaged configuration is activated by a first triggering element associated to the carriage interacting with the actuation mechanism subsequent to a cleaning operation. The engaged configuration is activated by a second triggering element as the carriage moves away from the service zone.
