MAINTENANCE APPARATUS, RECORDING APPARATUS, AND CONTROL METHOD
A maintenance apparatus that prevents a reduction in image quality of an image recorded by a liquid discharge head is provided. A maintenance apparatus includes an application unit configured to come into contact with a discharge surface included in a recording head and apply a cleaning liquid to the discharge surface, wherein discharge ports configured to discharge a liquid are formed on the discharge surface, a suction unit configured to suction the discharge surface, a movement unit configured to move the suction unit relative to the recording head, and a control unit configured to execute a first cleaning mode where, after the application unit applies the cleaning liquid, the suction unit suctions the discharge surface.
LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS AND CLEANING DEVICE
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting head which ejects liquid from a nozzle that is disposed on a nozzle surface, a first wiping portion which is able to wipe away the liquid that is adhered to the nozzle surface, and a second wiping portion which is able to hold the liquid that is adhered to the nozzle surface by contacting the nozzle surface, wherein it is possible to perform a first maintenance operation in which the nozzle surface is wiped using the first wiping portion and a second maintenance operation in which the second wiping portion is caused to contact the nozzle surface due to the second wiping portion being biased by the first wiping portion.
LIQUID DISCHARGE DEVICE AND LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS
A liquid discharge device includes a liquid discharge head including nozzles configured to discharge a liquid, a carriage mounting the liquid discharge head and movable, a wiper configured to wipe a nozzle surface of the liquid discharge head, and a wiper mover configured to hold and move the wiper between a facing position at which the wiper faces the nozzle surface and a standby position at which the wiper does not face the nozzle surface. The carriage movably holds the liquid discharge head and the wiper mover as a single unit.
LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS
There is provided a liquid discharge apparatus including a head configured to eject a liquid from nozzles being open in a nozzle surface, a liquid absorbing wiper, and a support supporting the liquid absorbing wiper. The supporter is movable relative to the head, between a first position where the liquid absorbing wiper is in contact with the nozzle surface, and a second position where the liquid absorbing wiper is away from the nozzle surface, the supporter has a flow channel for a liquid cleaner to flow therethrough, and the liquid absorbing wiper sucks in the liquid cleaner from below by way of contact with the liquid cleaner flowing in the flow channel.
CLEANING LIQUID AND INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS LIQUID SET
A cleaning liquid contains water, a specific organic solvent, and an acetylene surfactant. The specific organic solvent is at least one selected from the group consisting of polyhydric alcohol and polyalkylene glycol. The specific organic solvent has a percentage content of at least 1% by mass and no greater than 18% by mas to the mass of the cleaning liquid. The acetylene surfactant has a percentage content of at least 0.3% by mass and no greater than 1.0% by mass to the mass of the cleaning liquid.
Printhead assembly guidance and positioning system
A single pass inkjet printer that utilizes a modular printing system with one or more self-contained printing modules, where each printing module is easy to remove and replace from a large printing machine, thus resulting in an overall system that is easy to service and maintain Each module is a self-contained printer including an ink supply, printhead drive electronics, and printhead assembly in order to provide one color or fluid of inkjet printing capability. Each module includes a precise three-point compliant self-aligning mount system to obtain accurate printhead positioning, and a unique integrated printhead tending system that includes a compact movable vacuum knife for cleaning the printheads, and a printhead capping station for sealing and protecting the printheads from the ambient environment when not in use.
Printhead cleaning
In an example of the disclosure, a cleaning system for a printhead includes a web of material movable in a web direction. The web has a first side for wiping a printhead face. The cleaning system includes a dispensing apparatus to dispense a liquid upon the web. The cleaning system includes a scraper element for scraping liquid from the web and includes a collector element with a trough. The collector element is to cause collection of liquid scraped from the web to collect in the trough. The cleaning system includes a pusher element to push against the second side of the web and thereby cause the first side of the web to wipe the printhead face.
METHOD OF CONTROLLING A LIQUID EJECTING DEVICE AND LIQUID EJECTING DEVICE
Provided is a method of controlling a liquid ejecting device. The liquid ejecting device includes a liquid ejecting unit configured to eject a liquid containing an inorganic pigment from a nozzle provided at a nozzle surface, a wiper unit including a band-like member configured to absorb the liquid and a pressing unit configured to move the band-like member in a first direction, and a wiper moving unit configured to move the wiper unit in a second direction opposite to the first direction to wipe the nozzle surface using the band-like member. The method includes performing first wiping in which, to wipe the nozzle surface, the wiper moving unit moves the wiper unit at a first velocity while the pressing unit moves the band-like member at a first velocity.
FLUID EJECTION HEAD SERVICE WITH NON-WETTING LAYER
A fluid ejection system may include a fluid ejection head having a fluid ejection face through which fluid ejection orifices extend, a media supply to supply a medium for receiving fluid ejected through the fluid ejection orifices and a service station. The service station may include a substrate, an applicator to coat the substrate with a non-wetting layer having a controlled thickness and an actuator to move the substrate with the non-wetting layer into contact with the fluid ejection face without wiping the fluid ejection face.
Liquid discharge apparatus
A liquid discharge apparatus includes a head including a discharge port. The head discharges a liquid from the discharge port toward an object. The liquid discharge apparatus further includes a liquid receiving surface that receives the liquid discharged from the discharge port, a contact part that contacts the discharge port, a moving unit that holds at least one of the liquid receiving surface and the contact part, and a holder. The moving unit is movable between a facing position where at least one of the liquid receiving surface and the contact part faces the discharge port and a position where the liquid receiving surface and the contact part do not face the discharge port. The holder movably holds the discharge port of the head in a discharge direction to discharge the liquid.
