METHOD FOR ADJUSTING A TPMS SENSOR MODULE, AND TPMS SENSOR MODULE
A tire-pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensor module comprises a pressure sensor, which is configured to measure an internal air pressure of a tire and to generate tire pressure information, an additional, optional sensor, a transmitting/receiving device, a microcontroller unit which is configured to operate the TPMS sensor module in one of three or more different operating modes, wherein a first operating mode includes an inactive standby state, a second operating mode includes a measurement of a physical parameter using the pressure sensor and/or the additional sensor and reading the pressure sensor and/or the additional sensor using the microcontroller unit, and a third operating mode, and wherein in the second operating mode the microcontroller unit is configured to initiate a changeover from the second operating mode to the third operating mode when reading out a specified measurement event.
Radiofrequency communication module for a tire
A radiofrequency communication module or semi-finished product able to be integrated into the structure of a tire comprises a radiofrequency transponder embedded in an elastomer blend and comprising an electronic chip and a radiating antenna that is able to communicate with a radiofrequency reader. The radiofrequency transponder in addition comprises a primary antenna that is electrically connected to the electronic chip, the primary antenna is electromagnetically coupled to the radiating antenna, the radiating antenna consists of a single-strand helical spring, and the radiating antenna has a core made of steel coated with a conduction layer.
Electronic unit for measuring operating parameters of a vehicle wheel
A tire monitoring system electronic unit suitable for being mounted either on the tire inflation valve or on the internal surface of the tire. The system includes electronics for managing the electronic unit including sensors for measuring parameters of the tire, a microprocessor and a supply battery, and an antenna configured to be mountable on the management electronics; a way of securing the antenna and the electronic managing device to each other; the management electronics thus forming a common base capable of being used with an antenna that can be adapted to the intended location of the electronic unit, either on the tire inflation valve or on the internal surface of the tire.

The mobile electronic device comprising: a transmitter (202) and a receiver (200) to transmit and receive telecommunications signals over a distance of up to 4 cm to obtain the tyre pressure reading; and a locating feature to indicate when the transmitter and/or receiver are located within 4 cm or less of the tyre pressure sensor module. The tyre pressure sensor module comprising an antenna to detect a telecommunications signal from a mobile electronic device over a distance of up to 4 cm, a transmitter (902), a receiver (904) and a pressure sensor (916) to measure tyre pressure.
RADIO-TRANSMITTING SENSOR FOR A VEHICLE WHEEL, COMPRISING A DUAL-MODE ANTENNA CIRCUIT
A radio-transmitting sensor for a vehicle wheel, suitable for measuring at least one physical quantity and for transmitting a radio signal representative of this measured physical quantity. The sensor includes a measurement and transmission circuit, an antenna impedance matching circuit, and an antenna circuit. The sensor includes a sensitivity switch controlled by the measurement and transmission circuit and suitable for switching the antenna circuit according to two modes: a dynamic mode in which the antenna circuit is configured as a magnetic antenna, and in which the sensor transmits said radio signal representative of the measured physical quantity, this signal including transmitted data frames; and a static mode in which the antenna circuit is configured as an electric antenna.
PARAMETER MEASUREMENT SYSTEM FOR A MOUNTED ASSEMBLY
A system for measuring parameters of a mounted assembly comprises an electronic device for measuring parameters of the mounted assembly and a bonding interface made of elastomeric material surrounding the electronic device. The measuring electronic device comprises: a UHF radiofrequency antenna; and an electronic board with an electronic chip coupled to the UHF radiofrequency antenna, a sensor for measuring parameters of the mounted assembly, a microcontroller and an electrical circuit. The measuring system comprises a ground plane connected to the electronic board. The electronic board comprises an energy manager and a capacitive element. The coupling between the electronic chip and the UHF radiofrequency antenna is of an electrical nature. The electronic chip, the microcontroller and the measuring sensor are components of low energy consumption.
SYSTEM OF AT LEAST TWO TRANSMITTING AND/OR RECEIVING UNITS CONNECTED TO A COMMON ANTENNA
A system of at least two units that transmit and/or receive a signal at a first or a second frequency, respectively, each of the units being individually connected to the antenna, which is common to a first branch and to a second branch, respectively. The first branch or the antenna includes first passive electronics preventing passage of the signal at the second frequency to the first unit and allowing passage of the signal at the first frequency to the antenna. The second branch or the antenna includes second passive electronics preventing passage of the signal at the first frequency to the second unit and allowing passage of the signal at the second frequency to the antenna.
Tire sensor location method and apparatus
A method of locating a wheel-mounted electronic device, such as a tire pressure monitoring device. A wireless signal is transmitted from an interrogation device from each of a plurality of interrogation locations. The signals are received by the wheel-mounted device and received signal strength is measured for each interrogation location. The wheel-mounted device then transmits, in respect of each interrogation location, a wireless signal indicating the measured signal strength. These signals are received by the interrogation device which determines from them a location of the wheel-mounted device with respect to a wheel.
ANTENNA SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE TELEMATICS UNIT
Embodiments are disclosed for an example telematics system for a vehicle. The example telematics system comprises a plurality of antennae capable of sending and receiving wireless signals, the plurality of antennae including a primary antenna and a backup antenna positioned adjacent to the primary antenna. The primary antenna comprises a three-dimensional antenna, and the backup antenna comprises a two-dimensional antenna.
FLEXIBLE TIRE SENSOR UNIT
A flexible sensor unit is embedded in a tire. The flexible sensor unit includes a plurality of individual circuit boards. Each circuit board includes at least one electronic component. The at least one electronic component includes a radio frequency identification integrated circuit, a microcontroller unit, at least one sensor, a power source and a boost converter. Each one of a plurality of electrically conductive flexible connecting ribbons extends between the circuit boards. An end ribbon is electrically connected to at least one of the circuit boards. An antenna is disposed on the end ribbon. The antenna transmits data from the at least one sensor, as processed by the microcontroller unit, and identification data from the radio frequency identification integrated circuit, to an external reader.
