An active suspension system comprises at least one biasing device configured to support a body from a structure, and at least one motor. A magnetorheological (MR) fluid clutch apparatus(es) is coupled to the at least one motor to receive torque from the motor, the MR fluid clutch apparatus controllable to transmit a variable amount of torque. A mechanism is between the at least one MR fluid clutch apparatus and the body to convert the torque received from the at least one MR fluid clutch apparatus into a force on the body. Sensor(s) provide information indicative of a state of the body or structure. A controller receives the information indicative of the state of the body or structure and for outputting a signal to control the at least one MR fluid clutch apparatus in exerting a desired force on the body to control movement of the body according to a desired movement behavior.

Stabilizer control device

Left and right stabilizer bars are provided between left and right wheels of a vehicle. A control unit controls an actuator to control a rotation angle of the right stabilizer bar with respect to the left stabilizer bar. The control unit determines whether the vehicle is moving, whether a vehicle speed is less than a first threshold value, and whether a vehicle state is in transition from a moving state to a stopped state. A detection unit detects a control amount of the actuator. When the vehicle is moving, the vehicle speed is less than the first threshold value, the vehicle state is in transition from the moving state to the stopped state, and the control amount of the actuator is greater than zero, the control unit decreases the control amount of the actuator such that the control amount of the actuator becomes zero before the vehicle speed becomes zero.

The active roll stabilizer includes a pair of stabilizer bars installed between left and right wheels of a vehicle and an actuator which connects the pair of stabilizer bars and transmits a rotational force to the pair of stabilizer bars, wherein the actuator includes a motor configured to generate the rotational force, a housing coupled to a portion between the pair of stabilizer bars and having the motor disposed inside the housing, a damping part disposed on an extension line of a rotational shaft of the motor inside the housing and configured to absorb vibrations generated at the motor and the pair of stabilizer bars, and a torque measurement sensing part configured to measure a torque transmitted by the rotational force inside the damping part.
