AIRBAG APPARATUS FOR REDUCING INJURY
An airbag apparatus for reducing an injury may include: an airbag cushion part having a vent hole part through which gas is discharged; a cover member having a communication hole part smaller than the vent hole part, and adjusting the amount of gas discharged through the vent hole part by selectively covering the vent hole part; and a vent tether connected to the airbag cushion part and the cover member, and pulling the cover member in connection with an expansion of the airbag cushion part.
Driver Airbag Module and Bag with Passively Vented Cushion
An airbag module comprising an airbag (50) having a passive adaptive vent on a rear panel of the airbag, the vent having a movable vane which when moved causes the vent (200) to change state from open to closed or from closed to open, the airbag further including a main tether (100) secured to a face panel (54) of the airbag, the main tether moving with the face panel, the main tether having an opening (130) into which is threaded a portion of a control tether (80), the control tether is connected to the vane (210) and to the face panel, wherein movement of the end of the control tether in a first direction generally that of the inflating air bag causes the other end of the control tether secured to the vane to be moved in a direction different than the first direction
CENTER AIRBAG DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
A center airbag device may include: an inflator positioned between first and second seats, and generating an operating gas; a chamber part receiving the operating gas generated by the inflator, and expanding between the first and second seats; an internal tether part positioned in the chamber part, and connected to one or more of the top and side surfaces of the chamber part so as to control the deployment shape of the chamber part; and a locking release part connected to the internal tether part, and removing a restriction of the internal tether part according to a control signal.
AIRBAG DEVICE
An airbag device includes an airbag having an exhaust hole and a flap member that can close off the exhaust hole. The flap member includes a flap main body and a coupling member. The leading end of the coupling member is coupled with an opening/closing control device. The flap main body closes off the exhaust hole from an inner peripheral face side of the airbag. A width on the base portion side is set to be greater than a width of the exhaust hole. Whole of the base portion side is joined to the peripheral edge of the exhaust hole in the airbag. The flap main body covers the exhaust hole in a region between straight lines that connect one end each of a joint region on the base portion and a region on the leading end to which the coupling member is caused to be coupled.
Airbag with passive and active vents
An apparatus for helping to protect a vehicle occupant includes an airbag having primary and secondary chambers fluidly connected by a first passive vent and an active vent having an open condition and a closed condition. The primary chamber has a stored condition and a deployed condition to cover a portion of the vehicle. An interior panel divides the primary chamber into upper and lower inflatable volumes and includes a second passive vent fluidly connecting the upper and lower inflatable volumes. The secondary chamber has a stored condition and a deployed condition to cover portions of the vehicle left uncovered by the primary chamber. An inflator is actuatable to provide inflation fluid to the primary chamber. The active vent is controllable to prevent fluid communication between the primary and secondary chambers in response to occupant penetration into the primary chamber and controllable to allow fluid communication between the primary and secondary chambers in response to occupant penetration into the secondary chamber. The second passive vent automatically closes to prevent fluid flow from the lower inflatable volume to the upper inflatable volume in response to occupant penetration into the secondary chamber.
FAR-SIDE AIRBAG DEVICE
The far side airbag system has an airbag which is deployed and inflated between adjacent vehicle seats arranged side-by-side in the width direction when an impact is detected against one of a pair of side wall portions of the vehicle. The airbag includes an upper inflation portion having a portion deployed and inflated on a lateral side of a head portion of an occupant seated in the vehicle seat on a side farther from the specific side wall portion, and a lower inflation portion in which a portion including at least a lower end of the lower inflation portion is deployed and inflated between a console box arranged between the adjacent vehicle seats and the occupant. In the upper inflation portion, the portion positioned on the lateral side of the head portion is deployed and inflated such that a dimension in the width direction increases toward a front side.
Passenger airbag module with transverse tether
A passenger airbag module is described. This passenger airbag module comprises an airbag cushion having an outer skin enclosing a chamber, a structural member comprising a housing into which the un-deployed airbag cushion is folded, and an inflator. The housing extends in transverse direction from a first end to a second end, and the fully deployed outer skin extends in the transverse direction from a third end to a fourth end. In order to improve the positioning of the deployed airbag, a transverse tether is provided. This transverse tether extends from a fifth end being connected to the outer skin in transverse direction to a sixth end being connected to at least one of the outer skin and the structural member.
VEHICLE SEAT AIRBAG APPARATUS
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a vehicle seat airbag apparatus, wherein: when a side collision accident occurs, an active vent hole is closed to delay the deployment speed of a front cushion and thus to enable a side cushion so as to have sufficient internal pressure, thereby improving ability to respond to a side collision; and when a frontal collision accident occurs, the active vent hole maintains an open state to rapidly deploy the front cushion, thereby improving ability to respond to a frontal collision.
Airbag for a passenger seat
An airbag for a passenger seat is folded and stored in a storage so as to be deployed towards the passenger seat in such a manner as to enlarge towards the left and right when exiting the storage. The airbag includes a bag body that includes a mount-side portion to be mounted on the storage, and a cover panel that is made of a flexible sheet-shaped material and covers an outer circumference of the mount-side portion of the bag body. The cover panel is configured to cover an edge of a peripheral member of the storage at least in left and right sides of the storage at airbag deployment. The cover panel is joined to the bag body in such a manner that its edge portion is capable of slipping relative to the bag body at least in the left and right portions.
Airbag device for a driver's seat
An airbag device includes a steering wheel a rim portion of which has a longer length in a left and right direction than in a front and back direction, and an airbag mounted on a boss section of the steering wheel. An outer shell of the airbag includes a vehicle-side wall that is configured to be supported by an upper surface of the rim portion when deployed, and a driver-side wall a central region of which is configured to deploy generally vertically for receiving the driver. The airbag as deployed includes, in a rear portion of the vehicle-side wall, a locking inflatable portion that protrudes downward from a vicinity of the upper surface of the rim portion of the steering wheel to be locked by a rear surface of the rim portion and prevent a front portion of the airbag from slipping forward.
