FRONT AIRBAG
A front airbag (10) includes an inflatable chamber (18) having a baffle surface (16) provided to cushion an occupant (14) to be restrained, wherein a tether (28) extending inside the inflatable chamber (18) is provided which, when the front airbag (10) is mounted on the vehicle and is inflated, extends obliquely with respect to a vehicle longitudinal direction (L) and which is fastened with a first longitudinal end (34) to a single baffle surface-side fastening point (30) at the baffle surface (16).
AIRBAG DEVICE
An airbag device is adapted to be installed in a vehicle for protecting an occupant. The airbag device includes a bag-like cushion that inflates and deploys in front of a seat and is adapted to restrain the occupant. In an inflated condition, the airbag cushion includes a main inflating section inflating toward the rear of the vehicle, a pair of lobes protruding toward the rear of the vehicle on both sides of the main inflating section in a vehicle width direction, a pair of secondary inflating sections being provided respectively between the main inflating section and each of the lobes in the vehicle width direction and inflating toward the rear of the vehicle, and a pair of tethers are symmetrically attached and tensioned inside the cushion for preventing the protruded lobes from swinging around the main inflating section of the cushion.
AIRBAG
There is provided an airbag in which there are fewer restrictions in a place for setting a tension member and a place for setting a vent hole. Airbag (10) of the present invention has bag-shaped airbag main body (20), tension member (30, 30a, 30b) disposed inside airbag main body (20), and vent hole (50) provided in airbag main body (20). In two-dimensional view in which an inner side of inflated and deployed airbag main body (20) is viewed from a direction orthogonal to vent hole (50) via vent hole (50), tension member (30, 30a, 30b) has wrap portion (35) disposed at a position overlapping vent hole (50), and a dimension of at least a part of wrap portion (35) in an orthogonal direction is smaller than a gap of a portion of vent hole (50), which corresponds to wrap portion (35), in the orthogonal direction.
BOWL-SHAPED DRIVER AIRBAG
An assembly for a vehicle includes an instrument panel. The assembly includes a steering wheel having a hub and a rim spaced from and supported by the hub, and an airbag supported by the hub and inflatable to an inflated position. The airbag in the inflated position has a rear panel extending from the hub to the instrument panel. The rear panel has a bowl shape that extends endlessly around the rim.
Airbag device for passenger seat
An airbag uses a rear surface side when inflated as an occupant protection section. The occupant protection section includes a frontal collision restriction surface, oblique collision restriction surfaces on left and right sides of the frontal collision restriction surface, and restriction recessed portions between the frontal collision restriction surface and each oblique collision restriction surface. A recessed portion tether links a tip end side of a recess of the restriction recessed portions and a front end side of the airbag to each other to the inside thereof, and when inflated, at the time of dividing the region into two in the left-right direction around the vicinity of the attachment center to the storage part, provides a remote side region on a side away from a driver seat and a driver seat side region. The capacity of the remote side region is smaller than the driver seat side region.
ROOF-MOUNTED OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to a method for imaging an optical signal received by a graded index (GRIN) optical element to account for known variations in a graded index distribution of the GRIN optical element. The method may involve using a plurality of optical detector elements to receive optical rays received by the GRIN optical element at a plane, where the plane forms a part of the GRIN optical element or is downstream of the GRIN optical element relative to a direction of propagation of the optical rays. The optical rays are then traced to a plurality of additional specific locations on the plane based on the known variations in the graded index distribution of the GRIN optical element. A processor may be used to determine information on both an intensity and an angle of the received optical rays at each one of the plurality of specific locations on the plane of the GRIN optical element.
Energy-absorbing airbag diffusers and related airbag assemblies
Airbag cushion diffusers comprising one or more frangible portions and related airbag cushion assemblies and methods. In some embodiments, an airbag cushion assembly may comprise an airbag cushion having an internal diffuser positioned therein. The internal diffuser may comprise a lower panel that may be sewn or otherwise directly coupled to the airbag cushion and an upper panel coupled to the lower panel about respective entire peripheries of the upper and lower panels so as to define a diffuser chamber between the upper panel and the lower panel. The upper panel may comprise a plurality of openings for delivery of inflation gas therethrough and may comprise one or more openings, slits, and/or weakened regions configured to facilitate tearing in specific locations of the diffuser.
Passenger seat airbag device
A passenger seat airbag device includes an airbag including a front collision restraining surface, and an oblique collision restraining portion including a protruding portion in which a surface is set as an oblique collision restraining surface, and a restraining recess portion whose facing surfaces are able to restrain the head of the occupant. The rear wall main portion has the front collision restraining surface. The rear wall end edge portion has the oblique collision restraining surface. The upper edge of the rear wall end edge portion is coupled to a rear edge of the upper wall portion. The lower edge of the rear wall end edge portion is coupled to a rear edge of the lower wall portion. An entire edge of the separation edge of the rear wall end edge portion is coupled to a rear edge of the rear edge side portion.
OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEM
A restraint system is provided for helping to protect an occupant in a seat of a vehicle and includes an airbag having a main portion inflatable from a stored condition to a deployed condition in front of the occupant. Arms extend from the main portion and are spaced apart from one another to form an uninflated volume for receiving the occupant in response to a vehicle collision. The arms are configured to inflate to opposite sides of the occupant prior to occupant penetration into the airbag.
Steering wheel airbag
A steering wheel airbag, arranged to cover a steering wheel when inflation is completed, includes: a front-collision receiving surface which is arranged on a side of a driver when inflation is completed, so as to receive the driver moving forward during a head-on collision of a vehicle, the front-collision receiving surface being arranged substantially along a vertical direction to be tilted with respect to a ring surface of the steering wheel when inflation is completed; and arm restraining parts which are arranged near arms of the driver steering a ring part of the steering wheel on both right and left sides of the front-collision receiving surface when inflation is completed, the arm restraining parts coming into contact with the arms during an oblique collision or an offset collision of the vehicle, so as to prevent a movement of the driver to an obliquely front side.
