This invention relates to fabric for airbag comprising a textile substrate; and a coating layer on at least one side of the textile substrate, wherein coating layer comprises polyurethane resin, a crosslinking agent, and a hydrophilic thickener, and the crosslinking agent is a compound having a blocked active group, and a method for preparing fabric for airbag, comprising steps of: preparing a textile substrate; and forming a coating layer on at least one side of the textile substrate, wherein the step of forming a coating layer comprise steps of: adding a crosslinking agent and a hydrophilic thickener to an aqueous polyurethane dispersion to prepare a coating solution; applying the coating solution one at least one side of the textile substrate; drying the textile substrate on which the coating solution is applied; and heat treating the dried textile substrate.

ISOCYANATE-FUNCTIONAL PREPOLYMER, COMPOSITION COMPRISING SAME, AND COATING FORMED THEREWITH

An isocyanate-functional prepolymer comprises the reaction product of: (A) a polyol; (B) an organopolysiloxane having at least two carbinol-functional groups per molecule; and (C) a polyisocyanate. Components (A) to (C) are utilized to provide a stoichiometric excess of isocyanate-functional groups in component (C) over the total amount of isocyanate-reactive groups of components (A) and (B). An isocyanate component comprising the isocyanate-functional prepolymer is also disclosed. The isocyanate component also comprises (E) a filler. In addition, a composition is disclosed, which comprises the isocyanate component and an isocyanate-reactive component. Further, a method of preparing a coating with the composition is disclosed, which method comprises applying the composition on a substrate and forming the coating from the composition on the substrate. A coated substrate comprising the substrate and a coating disposed on the substrate, the coating being formed from the composition, is additionally disclosed.

Non-coated airbag base fabric, coated airbag base fabric, and airbag using same

A technical problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a non-coated fabric for airbags and a coated fabric for airbags that are both less likely to have yarn slippage after being sewn, and that can be compactly stored; and airbags using these fabrics. The fabric for airbags according to the present invention is a non-coated fabric for airbags or a coated fabric for airbags that both have a crimp ratio of 12% or more in the warp direction, and a crimp ratio of 61 or less in the weft direction.

Provided is a textile for a hollow weave airbag, said textile being suitable for an airbag that has superior packability while satisfying internal pressure retention and abrasion resistance characteristics required from the airbag, and also has superior laceration resistance at the time of airbag deployment.

An OPW airbag having warp and weft threads woven together in at least three woven fabric layers: a lower fabric layer, an upper fabric layer, and a middle fabric layer therebetween. The weft threads of the middle fabric layer emerge from the middle fabric layer in a first partial region of the airbag and are tied partially to the upper fabric layer and partially to the lower fabric layer. The warp threads of the middle fabric layer emerge from the middle fabric layer in the first partial region of the airbag and float freely between the lower fabric layer and the upper fabric layer. The weft and warp threads of the middle fabric layer are incorporated into the lower fabric layer or into the upper fabric layer in a second partial region of the airbag or are tied to the lower or upper fabric layer at a few attachment points.

A hydrosilylation curable textile coating composition comprises: (a) a linear organopolysiloxane polymer having at least two alkenyl and/or alkynyl groups per molecule; (b) a reinforcing filler comprising at least one of fumed silica, precipitated silica, or calcium carbonate; (c) a cross-linker containing at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen groups per molecule; (d) a hydrosilylation cure catalyst; (e) an organosilicon resin containing M and Q units; and (f) an adhesion promoter comprising a mixture and/or reaction product of (i) one or more alkoxysilanes having an epoxy group in the molecule; (ii) a linear organopolysiloxane oligomer containing at least one alkenyl group and at least one hydroxy or alkoxy group per molecule; and (iii) an organometallic condensation reaction catalyst comprising organoaluminum or organozirconium compounds. A textile, e.g. air bag or air bag fabric, can be coated with the hydrosilylation curable textile coating composition, and resulting air bags and fabrics generally have improved properties.

ADDITION-CURABLE LIQUID SILICONE RUBBER COMPOSITION FOR AIRBAGS, AND AIRBAG

Provided are an addition-curable liquid silicone rubber composition having exceptional adhesiveness and adhesive durability in a silicone rubber coating layer with respect to an airbag fabric, and an airbag.

An addition-curable liquid silicone rubber composition for airbags having, as essential components:

(A) an organopolysiloxane having a weight-average degree of polymerization of 100-2,000 and containing two or more silicon-atom-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule;

(B) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane containing at least two silicon-atom-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule;

(C) a silica fine powder having a BET specific surface area of 50 m.sup.2/g or higher;

(D) a catalyst for a hydrosilylation reaction;

(E) an organic compound including at least one functional group selected from alkenyl groups, alkoxysilyl groups, and hydrosilyl groups, and at least one isocyanate group, per molecule; and

(F) a condensation catalyst selected from organic titanium compounds, organic zirconium compounds, and organic aluminum compounds.

The purpose of the present invention pertains to a coated fabric used for an automotive airbag, and more particularly, a coated fabric for an airbag most suitable for a rollover curtain airbag which is produced applying a sealing agent to a coated fabric and sewing the resulting fabric and which can keep the adhesion of the sealing agent to the coat resin even after long-term and high-temperature aging. The present coated fabric for an airbag is obtained by applying an addition-polymerizable solvent-free silicone resin onto at least one surface of a synthetic fiber textile, wherein a coating amount of the silicone resin is 15 to 45 g/m.sup.2; and a weft strain/warp strain ratio as observed in stretching the coated fabric is 0.30 to 0.65.

MULTILAYER FILMS FOR AIRBAG APPLICATIONS

A multilayer film is provided that includes a barrier layer, and an adhesive layer, which includes a maleic anhydride (MAH)-grafted polyolefin. The barrier layer has a melting point higher than the adhesive layer, and the melting point of the barrier layer is higher than 165° C. The multilayer film enables production of gas-tight multilayer laminates which exhibit a high peel resistance combined with a low weight and/or thickness. Further, a multilayer laminate and an inflatable airbag that include a fabric layer adhered to the multilayer film, as well as a method of its manufacturing are described.

Multilayer film for use in air bag and air bag

The present disclosure is directed to provide a multilayer film for use in an air bag, which provides sufficient adhesiveness and blocking tendency in a well-balanced manner. The multilayer film for use in an air bag according to the present disclosure includes an adhesive layer and an outer layer. The adhesive layer includes a resin having a glass transition temperature from 0° C. to 80° C. and a melting point from 100° C. to 160° C. The outer layer includes a resin having a melting point higher than the melting point of the resin included in the adhesive layer by 20° C. or higher. Further, an air bag according to the present disclosure includes a synthetic fiber fabric and the aforementioned multilayer film for use in an air bag, in which the adhesive layer in multilayer film is laminated with the synthetic fiber fabric.
