The internal support system comprises at least a first and a second channel disposed on the dorsal side of the glove, and a first strap and a second strap at least partially disposed within the first and second channels and configured in an overlapped and crossed configuration, wherein each of the first and the second strap is configured to be retained within and slide within the respective channel, and wherein ends of the first and second straps extend from a dorsal cavity between the inner glove and the outer shell to an exterior of the striking glove.

An apparatus for use with an athletic glove which helps stabilize a digit, in particular, a thumb, as a hand is moved in a variety of motions, such as swinging a golf club. The apparatus has a sleeve at a first end in which a portion of the digit may be placed. The body of the apparatus is positioned across the palm side of the hand, around a lateral side thereof, and around the backside thereof. A second end of the apparatus may be inserted through an opening in an athletic glove, between the wrist strap and wrist flap thereof. The second end may have a fastener configured to engage fasteners of the wrist strap and wrist flap of the glove. A stabilizing insert may be engaged with the body of the apparatus and partially inserted into the sleeve thereof, before being placed around a thumb.

Positioning the compressible material such that it is between the user and any surface for example when exercising, requires the person to maintain balance while performing the exercise by using other muscles that would not ordinarily be used during the exercise, and provides proprioceptive feedback to the person's central nervous system.

A web portion having a monofilament mesh is fixedly coupled between a thumb and a pointer finger of the lightweight glove. A surrounding frame made of the plurality of lightweight layers is fixedly coupled with a side and bottom portion of the monofilament mesh and a bridge is fixedly coupled with the top. Cordage is used for lacing together a top portion of each finger with an adjacent finger and the bridge to form the lightweight ball glove.
