Intelligent personal protective equipment
Provided are systems and methods for integrated control and safety systems (ICSSs) that employ intelligent personal protective equipment (PPE). In some embodiments, an industrial plant system includes an industrial safety system (ISS) for monitoring a safety status of an industrial plant and one or more intelligent PPE systems worn by personnel located in the industrial plant. Each of the intelligent PPE systems includes one or more intelligent PPE devices for sensing personal and environmental characteristics of a person wearing the intelligent PPE system, and transmits safety data corresponding to the personal and environmental characteristics sensed. The ISS collects the safety data, determines (based on the safety data) whether a safety incident has occurred and, in response to determining that a safety incident has occurred, executes a response to the safety incident.
Public hand protection system (PHPS)
A system for mitigating the transmission of infectious threats by providing an easy access to a cloth or mitt attached to a retractable cord to allow the user to grab a doorknob, subway passenger strap or pole without having skin contact with public touched surfaces. A protection cloth and retraction cord are attached to a personal attachment device, which can be worn on a belt, also has a container with sanitation solution that is applied to the protection cloth after use and can also be applied to a person's hands. A second cloth is also used to wipe down surfaces such as seats, knobs, switches, etc. providing a reusable sanitation cloth and refillable sanitation container. The invention will reduce the contact transmission of infectious disease threats in a more convenient method than current traditional methods of disposable cloths or liquids.
Finger protector, and method of making
The subject matter relates generally to devices configured to be attached to fingers and/or the hands of persons and which may aid in the playing of musical instruments. These devices are custom made to fit the fingers of a particular musician or aspiring musician precisely and optionally include an additional feature or element at the tip which beneficially improves the ability to play. These devices also may protect the fingers from the adverse effects of prolonged playing. These devices may be used independently on each finger, or may be combined together into a glove with the finger devices attached to the rest of a custom fitting glove.
Glove with medicinal pads and differing thickness regions
A glove with thinner and thicker parts is disclosed. The thinner parts, in one version of the glove, cover all of a thumb and index finger and a distal phalanx of a middle and ring finger. The rest of the glove, in such an embodiment, is thicker. The thicker parts can include the palm and dorsal side of the hand. The thinner region palmar side of the distal phalanx of the middle and ring finger include, in embodiments of the disclosed technology, a pad with a peelable cover which reveals a local anesthetic and disinfectant. Such pads can further be used/attached with a version of the glove with only thinner material throughout. In this manner, one can grasp with greater dexterity with the thinner regions of the glove compared to the thicker regions and also use a disinfectant followed by an anesthetic.

When activated by a user, the control is configured to actuate the pepper spray canister, causing pepper spray to be emitted therefrom. The control is also configured to actuate at least one electrode sending an electrical current therethrough. The user may aim the pepper spray canister in the direction of an attacker and activate the control in order to incapacitate the attacker with the pepper spray. The rear portion further includes a warning label and a light thereon in order to deter would-be assailants from initiating a confrontation.
