Mobile ventilation stack assembly

The disclosure relates to devices and methods for ventilating enclosed area such as shipping containers or structures erected to temporarily contain cargo items. A central element in such devices and methods is a ventilation stack assembly in which a vertically-oriented stack having an outlet is connected at its other end to a pipe leading to an inlet. A first housing having the dimensions (and preferably the fittings) of a standard shipping container is rigidly connected to the stack and pipes, and the assembly can be physically manipulated as if it were a standard shipping container. Gas (e.g., fumigant) provided to the pipe inlet passes through the pipe and into and through the stack, exiting at the outlet, which can be situated at an altitude whereat gas discharged therefrom is dispersed into the atmosphere at a location and concentration at which displeasure or hazard to humans can be reduced.

AIR EMISSION STACK, CONTROLLED EMISSION RELEASE

Many import and export regulations require fumigation of goods, such as products or commodities, to ensure that non-native pests are not introduced. The fumigating process can involve placing the goods in a sealed containment system, and introducing the sealed good to a fumigant, such as methyl bromide gas, for a predetermined amount of time. After fumigation, regulations may require how to dispense the fumigant. The fumigant can be exhausted through fans, baffles, dampers, filters, and a chimney, as part of an emission system, in a controlled manner. The controlled manner can include combining the fumigant with ambient air and releasing or exhausting the combination over an amount of time, which mitigates pollution by the fumigant. The time-period is not specific, and instead is the time needed to meet regulatory requirements.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR STORING AND DEPLOYING SHEETS OF FLEXIBLE MATERIAL

A sheet of flexible material can be deployed or stored by unfurling or furling the sheet using one or more inflatables. After the sheet is deployed to, for example, cover a load on a flatbed trailer, the inflatable can be deflated for storage. A sheet that has been removed from the load can be stored by placing an inflatable along an edge of the sheet. The inflatable is pressurized, and the sheet is furled onto the inflatable by rolling the inflatable. The inflatable is deflated and rolled up with the sheet for storage.

Systems and methods for indoor plant cultivation, storage, and pest control

The present invention provides an effective pest control solution for indoor cannabis applications. The interior atmosphere is controlled to expose the live cannabis plants or post-harvest plant products to low oxygen levels (higher than 1% but lower than ambient air) and high carbon dioxide levels for one or more periods of less than 48 hours. This combination is effective to prevent or eliminate pests without harming the plants.

Resin composition and applications thereof

A resin composition contains an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A) in which an ethylene unit content is from 10 to 60 mol %, a hindered amine-based compound (B) having a 2,2,6,6-tetraalkylpiperidine ring structure and having an alkoxy group bonded to a nitrogen atom in the structure, and a hindered phenol-based compound (C) having an ester bond or an amide bond. The resin composition contains 0.1 to 5 parts by mass of the hindered amine-based compound (B) and 0.2 to 5 parts by mass of the hindered phenol-based compound (C) with respect to 100 parts by mass of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A), and a mass ratio (C)/(B) is from 0.2 to 3.6.

Method and System for Insect Eradication in Arecaceae Trees
20200396980 · 2020-12-24 ·

A method and system for eradicating insects in palm trees (such as arecaceae) by means of a lower stem encasement embedded with fumigant. Said encasement comprised of a plastic, polymer sheet with internal, flexible foam lining. The lining having a plurality of apertures configured to receive a multitude of fumigants (such as aluminum phosphide tablets) therein. The invention being wrapped around the perimeter of the aforementioned palm tree and selectively affixed by means of adhesive strips and adjustable strapping on distal ends. While it is well-known that such insects respond well to fumigants, it is difficult to make contact with them in the center of a tree. An object of the invention is to impregnate an Arecacae tree with fumigants by means of a non-invasive fumigant wrap system.

INSECTICIDE DISPENSING DEVICE AND METHOD
20200337292 · 2020-10-29 ·

Insecticide dispensing devices and methods of the present technology provide for the prolonged release of insecticide for the eradication of insect populations. Insecticide dispensing devices include an attractive toxic sugar bait, and have a housing configured with at least one aperture to allow a gaseous compound to exit the internal cavity and sized to allow entry of a target insect into the internal cavity. Methods of insecticide dispensing include activating the attractive toxic sugar bait in the device, and placing the activated device in an area where insects are present.

Kit for air treatment of upholstered furniture and method of using such kit
10798934 · 2020-10-13 · ·

A kit for extermination of pest animals in furniture and a method for using the kit are disclosed. A sheet is provided over upholstered furniture. The sheet may be provided with ballast at the edges for keeping the sheet more or less fixed. Heated air is forced underneath the sheet. The furniture is preferably provided with an air treatment module for forcing air through the upholstery like a mattress. This allows the heated air provided by the forced air supply to be provided to the upholstery via the inside, highly increasing efficiency of heat treatment of the furniture. A way of controlling temperature of air provided by the forced air supply is disclosed, as well as a way of controlling temperature of air actually within the spaced defined by the positioned sheet. The latter allows for improved control of maintaining a temperature at which for example bed bugs are killed.
