Method and Apparatus for Singulating Particles in a Stream
Particles are sorted into paths based on a measurable parameter by forming them into a stream in at least one duct carried on a body rotating around an axis where the duct is shaped so that the particles are accelerated to cause the particles separated into the duct to be aligned one after another in a row in the duct. The parameter of the particles are measured in the aligned stream one after the other and the particles are directed into one of a plurality of paths as determined by the measurement. In one arrangement the body comprises a disk member having a front face facing a supply conduit and the duct lies in a radial plane of the disk member. In one arrangement the measurement of the parameter is carried out by one or more measurement devices either carried on the disk or outside the edge of the disk.
DRUG PACKAGING DEVICE
Disclosed is a drug packaging device including a storage unit in which a plurality of units of a drug (hereinafter, referred to as simply drug units) is stored, a supply unit supplying drug units discharged from the storage unit to a drug packaging member, and a drive unit moving up and down the storage unit to a position at which the storage unit can communicate with the supply unit and rotating the storage unit to generate centrifugal force required to discharge the drug units from the storage unit to the supply unit. With this structure, the device can be used for dispensing of various kinds of drugs, thereby being advantageous in terms of mass packaging of drugs.
SORTING MACHINE FOR PLASTIC CONTAINERS WITH ORIENTING DEVICE AND METHOD THEREFOR
A sorting machine for orienting a container by fall, irrespective of how it is positioned on a housing, involves the activation of a pendulum which, leaning on the neck of the container, creates a rotation fulcrum for the container itself. The machine further comprises a control and/or reading system which detects the orientation of the container, said information generating a signal that is transmitted to handling means acting on the pendulum defining the suitable positioning thereof for the correct orientation of the container during the fall in an underlying cradle.
ARTICLE SUPPLY APPARATUS
An article supply apparatus comprises a main body, an article accommodating unit provided in the main body, accommodates articles, an article supply unit provided in the article accommodating unit and including a first turntable and a second turntable, and a first operating unit provided in the article supply unit, wherein a relative position of the second turntable with respect to the first turntable is changed by an operation of the first operating unit.

ARTICLE FEED SYSTEM FOR ALIGNING AND SINGULATING ARTICLES
An article feed system for aligning and singulating incoming articles includes a rotatable upper rim surface and an article delivery device that delivers articles received by the article delivery device to the upper rim surface. A drive system is operatively connected to the disk assembly that rotates the bowl assembly and the assemblies rotate at different speeds but in the same direction. A guide wall extends upwardly above the upper rim surface that guides the articles travelling along the upper rim surface toward an exit opening in the guide wall. A vertically oriented article engaging-type conveyor is at the exit opening in the guide wall. The vertically oriented article engaging-type conveyor includes a moving article engaging surface that is exposed to the exit opening in the guide wall for receiving the articles when they exit the exit opening.
Medicine cassette and medicine feeding apparatus
A medicine feeding apparatus includes a cylindrical body 8, a first rotating body 9, and a second rotating body 10. The first rotating body 9 is disposed on the inner side of the cylindrical body 8, and together with the cylindrical body 8, constitutes a medicine storage section 42 capable of storing medicine. The first rotating body 9 can reciprocate in the axial direction of the cylindrical body 8, and can rotate about a first rotary axis. The second rotating body 10 is disposed on the outer circumference of an opening of the cylindrical body 8, and can rotate about a second rotary axis. This configuration has a function of smoothly performing automatic dispensing depending on the remaining amount of stored medicine while storing a large amount of medicine.
Article feed system for aligning and singulating articles
An article feed system for aligning and singulating incoming articles includes a rotatable upper rim surface and an article delivery device that delivers articles received by the article delivery device to the upper rim surface. A drive system is operatively connected to the outer bowl that rotates the outer bowl.
FEED UNIT
A feed unit, for example for feeding components to smoking article assembly apparatus, has a guide member (14) and a plurality of pushers (21) arranged to push components (2) along a path defined by the guide member (14) for output from the feed unit. The guide member (14) is arranged to separate the components (2) into separate streams (63, 64) according to their orientation. The stream (63) of non-correctly oriented components (2) comprises a channel that is helically rotated to orientate correctly said components (2). Both streams (63, 64) converge downstream said helical section to achieve a single flow of components (2) of similar orientation.
FEED UNIT
A feed unit, for example for feeding components to smoking article assembly apparatus, includes a rotary device having one or more channels (7) adapted to receive components, one on top of another, and one or more pushers (21) associated with each channel. The feed unit also has a track (14) to receive components from outlets of the one or more channels (7) and the rotary device is configured to rotate with respect to the track (14) so that components pass through the channels (7) and are pushed along the track by the pushers (21) for output from the feed unit.
