A pocket configured to provide retention of an item in the interior volume thereof. The pocket of the present invention is formed having an outer wall adjacent to the body to which the pocket is secured. The pocket includes opposing lateral edges, a bottom edge and an upper peripheral edge wherein the upper peripheral edge defines the opening of the pocket. A first retention member is present along the upper peripheral edge and is configured to bias the upper peripheral edge against the body. An upper flap member is present and is vertically adjacent the upper peripheral edge. The upper flap member includes an upper edge, opposing side edge and a lower peripheral edge. The lower peripheral edge extends below the upper peripheral edge of the outer wall. A second retention seam member is present along the lower peripheral edge to bias against the outer wall.

This invention is a pocket that is incorporated into a garment to hold a mobile device safely and securely on the wearer with its sensors exposed such that the mobile device functionality relative to data collection or utilization (audio, video, photographic and other data) is possible in a hands free nature. This will allow a user, without the need for special cases or harnesses, to do hands free POV (Point of View) video recording, photographs, audio recording, and other application driven data collection such as GPS trip mapping, environmental data collection, and two way voice activated communication. The intention is to have the pocket to be a part of many types of clothing consumers wear, so the mobile device is easily put to use for the described functions, is readily available when needed and is a convenient and inexpensive alternative to special harnesses, holders or carriers. The invention also carries out the functions of a standard mobile device holster or harness such that the user can access the device for playing music or other functions in a hands free manner.

A garment or article of clothing made of a resilient/elastomeric material includes at least a waist portion, a first leg portion, and a second leg portion. The waist portion further includes a pocket on the rear of the garment, where the pocket is defined by a backing panel, a first flap, and a second flap. The first flap is at least partially disposed over the second flap to secure contents between the backing panel and the second panel, and thus, within the pocket. When the waist portion is stretched, the tensile forces imparted onto the waist portion by the resilient/elastomeric material causes the first flap to at least partially overlie the second flap. The pocket is sized and shaped to receive smartphones and other small personal items, such as keys, money, credit cards, identifications, etc.

A garment with a pocket and container, comprising a garment with a pocket, wherein the garment has a first opening providing access to the at least one pocket, an enveloping container having an interior surface, an exterior surface, a first end, a second end and a second opening disposed at the first end providing access to an interior space, and wherein the enveloping container fits within the pocket.

A hooded garment can include a torso section extending from a waist region to a neck region, where the torso section includes a chest region and a back region. The hooded garment includes a hood extending upward from the neck region and having a front opening, a right sleeve extending from a right shoulder region of the right torso region and having a first wrist opening, and a left sleeve extending from a left shoulder region of the left torso region and having a second wrist opening.

The invention relates to a safety pocket for a work shirt, the safety pocket including, a pocket body suitable to receive items that the wearer would like to carry with them with ready access, having a back and front wall. An opening to the pocket body is formed between the front and back of the pocket body, and a safety means, is associated with the opening. The safety means acts to substantially catch and hold the items within the pocket body, if the person leans forward and the safety means may be moved between an open state, where items can be put inside the pocket body, and a secure state where items are substantially prevented from passing through the opening. The invention also relates to a variant to retrofit to existing pockets. The invention also relates to an improved work shirt, including the safety pocket.

A decorative item comprises at least one area of hook or loop fastening and a cover comprising a substantially see-through portion, wherein the see-through portion is configured to overlay the area of hook or loop fastening. The item comprises a pocket for storing decorations having an opening located under the cover.

A pocket structure for a waistband of a garment, comprising: an outer pocket panel attached to an inner pocket panel along respective first side edges, second side edges, and bottom edges thereof forming a pocket therebetween and a back portion of the waistband; wherein respective unattached top edges of the outer and inner pocket panels are narrower than the respective bottom edges thereof. Aspects herein are directed to a pocket structure that facilitates the secure storage of items stowed within the pocket structure. The pocket structure includes inner and outer pocket layers defining a pocket space therebetween. The pocket structure further includes a first tapered channel structure positioned in the pocket space between the outer pocket layer and the inner pocket layer, that has an inlet opening and an outlet opening opposite the inlet opening. The first tapered channel structure providing a passageway to the pocket space from the inlet opening edge to the outlet opening edge; and a first tether structure extending from the tapered channel structure to one or more of the outer pocket layer, the inner pocket layer, and a seam joining the outer pocket layer and the inner pocket layer.
