An image forming apparatus includes a recording head, a cap, a tank, a pump, a third communication pipe and a controller. The cap forms a sealed space including an ejection port of the recording head. The tank is connected to the sealed space through a first communication pipe and generates a humidified air. The pump feeds the humidified air to the sealed space through the first communication pipe. The third communication pipe connects the pump and the sealed space. The controller is performable a capping operation to feed the humidified air to the sealed space and a long-period leaving operation to feed the humidifying liquid in the tank to the sealed space through the third communication pipe and to stop a driving of the pump after a predetermined amount of the humidifying liquid is fed in the sealed space.

An integrated inkjet module includes: a support chassis configured for fixedly mounting over a media feed path; a maintenance chassis mounted on the support chassis; a print bar chassis liftably mounted on the maintenance chassis, the print bar chassis having a plurality of print modules mounted thereon, each print module comprising a respective printhead; and an aerosol collector fixed to the support chassis and positioned for collecting ink mist generated during printing.

Disclosed herein is a print head maintenance assembly, a printing device and a method of controlling a print head maintenance assembly in a printing device. The print head maintenance assembly comprises a maintenance cartridge comprising a positioning flag, wherein the maintenance cartridge is movable along a maintenance path in a direction of movement; and a sensor to detect the positioning flag to determine the position of the maintenance cartridge along the maintenance path.

An integrated inkjet module includes: a support chassis configured for fixedly mounting over a media feed path; a maintenance chassis mounted on the support chassis; a print bar chassis mounted on the maintenance chassis, the print bar chassis having printheads mounted thereon; and a lift mechanism operably interconnecting the print bar chassis and the maintenance chassis. The print bar chassis and the maintenance chassis are together slidably movable relative to the support chassis to a position offset from the media feed path.

A method of securing a printhead assembly in a printing position relative to a media feed path. The method includes the steps of: lowering the printhead assembly towards datum surfaces, each datum surface having a fixed position relative to the media feed path; and magnetically attracting portions of the printhead assembly towards the datum surfaces so as to secure the printhead assembly in the printing position.

A printer includes a carriage including a first head and a second head at least partially overlapping in a sub-scanning direction, a first wiper for wiping the first head, and a second wiper for wiping the second head. The printer moves the first wiper to a first contact position where the first wiper is configured to contact the first head, and moves the second wiper to a second non-contact position where the second wiper is not configured to contact the second head. After moving the first wiper and the second wiper, the printer relatively moves the carriage to cause the first head to pass the first wiper at the first contact position.

An ejection apparatus includes an ejection head, and a recessed portion, a wiper, an installation unit, and a moving unit configured to move the blade and the ejection head relative to each other, wherein the wiper performs a wiping operation for wiping the ejection head to wipe the ejection port after wiping the recessed portion, and wherein in the wiping operation, a first wiping operation is performed in a state where the ejection port surface and the installation unit on which the wiper is installed are at a first distance in a direction perpendicular to the ejection port surface, and a second wiping operation is performed in a state where the ejection port surface and the installation unit on which the wiper is installed are at a second distance in the direction perpendicular to the ejection port surface, the second distance being larger than the first distance.

An image forming apparatus includes a housing, a container body, and an electrostatic capacitance sensor. The container body contains a liquid and is placed on a ground surface which is a part of the housing. The electrostatic capacitance sensor detects a change in capacitance between a side surface of the container body and the ground surface to determine a change in quantity of the liquid in the container body. The top surface of the container body is a part of the housing. The top surface and the ground surface are in electrically conductive state, a distance between the top surface and the electrostatic capacitance sensor is longer than a distance between the ground surface and the electrostatic capacitance sensor, or the top surface and the ground surface are electrically insulated, or the top surface is opened.

A liquid ejecting head with a sealing member includes: a liquid ejecting head including a liquid ejecting surface configured to eject ink; a fixing member configured to be attachable to and detachable from the liquid ejecting head; and a sealing member configured to seal the liquid ejecting head and the fixing member. When the liquid ejecting head to which the fixing member is joined is mounted on a cover, the sealing member seals the liquid ejecting head and the cover.

An ejection apparatus includes an ejection head having an ejection port surface and configured to eject a liquid to a recording medium for recording, a wiper configured to wipe the surface, and a moving unit configured to relatively move the wiper and the head to move the wiper in a first direction along the surface with respect to the head. The apparatus performs a first mode for performing the wiping while relatively moving the wiper and the head at a first speed, and a second mode for performing the wiping while relatively moving the wiper and the head at a second speed higher than the first speed. When the apparatus performs the wiping after the recording and then performs subsequent recording, the apparatus performs the second mode. When the apparatus performs the wiping after the recording and then performs no subsequent recording, the apparatus performs the first mode.
