A method for transmitting data from a wheel unit arranged on a wheel of a vehicle to a central unit of the vehicle, involving: sending the data in the form of temporally spaced data transmissions from the wheel unit to the central unit, transmission times of the data transmissions being stipulated by the wheel unit according to a transmission algorithm; and receiving the data transmissions sent by the wheel unit via the central unit is disclosed. The method may further comprise: evaluating reception times at which each of the data transmissions are received by the central unit, according to an evaluation algorithm making allowance for the transmission algorithm; and rating the data transmissions on the basis of a result of the evaluation of the reception times. Further, a corresponding apparatus for data transmission in a vehicle is disclosed.

A transmitter is configured to be attached to each of wheel assemblies provided in a vehicle and execute a process in accordance with a command included in a trigger signal transmitted from a trigger device. The transmitter includes a battery, a condition detecting section, which detects a condition of the transmitter, a trigger receiving section, which receives, as the trigger signal, an unmodulated wave having a received signal strength indication greater than or equal to a predetermined received signal strength indication, a transmitting section, which transmits a signal, a controlling section, which performs response transmission, by which the signal is transmitted to the transmitting section in response to the unmodulated wave, when the trigger receiving section receives the unmodulated wave, and a memory section, which stores at least one of reception time of the unmodulated wave and a number of times of the response transmission.

The processor is configured to: receive an unencrypted signal indicating an abnormal tire pressure, enter an encrypted mode with the sensors, receive an encrypted follow up tire pressure status from the sensors, and determine whether the unencrypted signal is authentic based on the encrypted follow up tire pressure status.

A method for operating an electronic wheel unit disposed on a vehicle wheel of a vehicle includes providing the electronic wheel unit with a detecting device for detecting rotation angle positions of the vehicle wheel that are present at certain detection times, and a radio transmitter device for transmitting a sequence of individual electromagnetic signals which include data representative of the detected rotation angle positions and their associated detection times. The detecting device is further used to detect an amount of a wheel acceleration of the vehicle wheel and to set an interval of time between the detection times of the rotation angle positions to be shorter the greater the amount of wheel acceleration. A corresponding electronic wheel unit and a method and an apparatus for localizing respective installation positions of a plurality of such electronic wheel units on a vehicle are also provided.

Provided is a vehicular communication system configured to prevent crosstalk between signals transmitted from an in-vehicle wireless device constituting one wireless communication system such as a TPMS and a mobile device constituting another wireless communication system. The vehicular communication system includes a mobile device wirelessly transmitting a signal related to operation of a vehicle, an in-vehicle wireless device wirelessly transmitting a signal related to the vehicle, and an in-vehicle communication apparatus provided in a different part from the in-vehicle wireless device and wirelessly communicates with the mobile device and the in-vehicle wireless device. The in-vehicle communication apparatus receives signals transmitted from the mobile device and the in-vehicle communication apparatus, and determines whether there is crosstalk. The in-vehicle communication apparatus transmits to the mobile device or the in-vehicle wireless device, a stop signal instructing to stop signal transmission when crosstalk has occurred.

The invention relates to a method for transmitting data from a wheel unit (20-1 to 20-4), arranged on a wheel (W1-W4) of a vehicle (1), to a central unit (30) of the vehicle (1), involving: sending the data in the form of temporally spaced data transmissions (R1-R4) from the wheel unit (20-1 to 20-4) to the central unit (30), transmission times of the data transmissions (R1-R4) being stipulated by the wheel unit (20-1 to 20-4) according to a transmission algorithm; and receiving the data transmissions (R1-R4) sent by the wheel unit (20-1 to 20-4) by means of the central unit (30). In this case, there is provision for the method to further comprise: evaluating reception times at which each of the data transmissions (R1-R4) are received by the central unit (30), according to an evaluation algorithm making allowance for the transmission algorithm; and rating the data transmissions (R1-R4) on the basis of a result of the evaluation of the reception times. Further, the invention relates to a corresponding apparatus (10) for data transmission in a vehicle (1).
