Airbag and method for protecting an occupant of a vehicle
An apparatus for helping to protect an occupant of a vehicle comprises an airbag having a primary chamber and a secondary chamber. The primary chamber has a stored condition and is inflatable to a deployed condition to cover a portion of the vehicle. The secondary chamber has a stored condition and is inflatable to a deployed condition to cover portions of the vehicle left uncovered by the primary chamber. At least one passive vent provides fluid communication between the primary and secondary chambers. At least one active vent is actuatable to provide fluid communication between the primary and secondary chambers. An inflator is actuatable to provide inflation fluid to the primary chamber. The at least one passive vent directs inflation fluid from the primary chamber into the secondary chamber. The at least one active vent is actuatable to direct inflation fluid from the primary chamber to the secondary chamber.
Airbag Assembly for a Vehicle Seat of a Motor Vehicle
A vehicle seat of a motor vehicle has a side airbag provided on the vehicle seat, and a tension band assembly which includes a first tension band and a second tension band. The first tension band has an upper end and a lower end. The upper end of the first tension band is fixed in the region of the upper end of the backrest of the vehicle seat while the lower end is arranged in the region of the seat surface of the vehicle seat. The second tension band has an upper end and a lower end. The upper end of the second tension band is fixed in the region of the head support on the vehicle seat while the lower end is rigidly connected to the first tension band below the upper end of the first tension band. The tension band assembly is rigidly connected to the side airbag.
Airbag module
An airbag module including an inflatable airbag and an inflator. The airbag is formed by a main panel and a pair of side panels and deploys into a position to contact the occupant. The airbag includes a tether connected to the main panel at one end and is anchored proximate to the inflator at the other end. Prior to inflation, the airbag includes a pre-folded portion adjacent to the tether. The airbag is configured so that during an initial stage of the inflation process the tether is fully extended and the pre-folded portion remains folded and during a final stage of the inflation process the tether separates into at least two portions thereby allowing the pre-folded portion to unfold and the airbag to fully deploy.
Airbag for retractable steering wheel
A restraint system includes a retractable steering wheel, an airbag inflatable from the steering wheel, two primary tethers, two secondary tethers, and a tether release engaged with both secondary tethers. The airbag when inflated includes a front panel adjacent the steering wheel and an impact panel opposite the front panel. The primary tethers extend from the front panel to the impact panel. The secondary tethers extend from the front panel to each primary tether.
PROCESSING DEVICE, PROCESSING METHOD AND PROGRAM
A processing device includes a control unit configured to execute identifying a first training device that is of one or more training devices equipped in a movable object for providing a training opportunity to a passenger and that is used by the passenger, and at least one process of controlling a traveling state of the movable object depending on a content of a training using the first training device and restricting use states of the one or more training devices depending on the traveling state of the movable object.
Curtain airbag system of vehicle
A curtain airbag system of a vehicle is configured such that a position of an auxiliary chamber provided in a curtain airbag is changed to correspond to an occupant's seating posture or the occupant's lying posture in response to a vehicle collision, so that the occupant is safely protected in various seating postures.
AIRBAG ASSEMBLY HAVING AN AUGMENTED INFLATABLE AIRBAG CUSHION
An airbag system having an airbag control module configured to detect a direction of impact of a vehicle, an airbag assembly having an airbag cushion with an internal tether, and a tether adjustment mechanism. The tether adjustment mechanism is in communication with the airbag control module and engagement with the tether. The airbag control module is configured to send a signal to the tether adjustment mechanism to adjust the tether by ratcheting a portion of the middle segment of the tether when the airbag cushion deploys such that one of a first tether length and a second tether length is extended and the other of the first tether length and the second tether length is contracted to provide a larger volumetric capacity of the airbag cushion in the direction of impact.
PASSENGER PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE
A passenger protection system for a vehicle includes: a seat which slides e forwards and backwards and rotates laterally, where the seat has a seat belt equipped with a belt airbag, and a side airbag provided on a side of a seatback of the seat; a front airbag provided in a front structure located in front of the seat of the vehicle to be deployed towards the seat; a curtain airbag provided in a pillar trim on an upper end of a vehicle door to be deployed downwards; and a controller to selectively deploy the belt airbag, the side airbag, the front airbag and the curtain airbag, depending on a sliding position and a rotating direction of the seat and a detection or a predicted direction of a vehicle collision.
AIRBAG MODULE ASSEMBLY
An airbag module assembly has an airbag cushion with at least one vent, a housing structure for receiving the airbag cushion, a housing cover for attachment to the housing structure, a vent connector connected to the vent, a pin puller mechanism with a retractable pin, and a flexible conduit extending from the airbag cushion adjacent the vent to the pin puller mechanism. The vent connector extends inside the conduit to a looped end for attachment to the retractable pin. The vent connector can be a rope or wire. The vent is initially in a closed position during deployment of the airbag. The airbag cushion is folded about the conduit during assembly and the vent connector is configured to pass through the flexible conduit when the airbag cushion is folded.
AIRBAG DEVICE
Disclosed herein is an airbag device that includes an airbag cushion inflated as a working gas is introduced thereinto, a partition installed inside the airbag cushion to partition the airbag cushion into a first chamber facing an occupant's head and a second chamber adjacent to the first chamber, and a deployment adjustment section configured to pass through the partition, to interconnect the first chamber and the second chamber, and to guide deployment of the second chamber.
