AIRBAG FOR VEHICLE
An airbag for a vehicle is provided. The airbag includes an airbag cushion that has a plurality of chambers and the plurality of chambers are connected to be interlocked with each other by an operation tether. Accordingly, when an occupant presses against a specific chamber due to a vehicle collision, the other chamber is deformed to wrap the occupant, thereby restraining the occupant in a seat and minimizing the occurrence of injury.
Vehicle airbag assembly
A seat assembly includes a seatback and an airbag supported by the seatback. The airbag is inflatable from an uninflated position to an inflated position. The seat assembly includes a bar pivotally supported by the seatback and fixed to the airbag. The bar is pivotable about a vertical axis of the seat assembly from a stowed position at the seatback with the airbag at the uninflated position to a deployed position forward of the seatback with the airbag at the inflated position.
Device at least for moving a mass, and vehicle having such a device
A device at least for moving a mass includes a hollow cylindrical airbag fluidically coupled to a gas generator. The airbag is arranged fixedly with one end on an object and a traction element is fixed in the region of an opposite end. The mass to be moved is arranged on the traction element. When the airbag unfolds traction is exerted on the traction element in such a way that the mass is able to be moved.
CENTER CURTAIN AIRBAG FOR VEHICLE
A center curtain airbag for a vehicle may include an upper cushion device configured to be deployed from a roof device of the vehicle into a space between a front seat and a rear seat when an inflator operates; a lower cushion device connecting and communicating with the upper cushion device and configured to extend downwardly from the upper cushion device; and a guide tether including a first end portion coupled to the upper cushion device or the roof device, and a second end portion coupled to a lower end portion of the lower cushion device, the guide tether being configured to provide, when the lower cushion device along with the upper cushion device is deployed, a pulling force to the lower cushion device so that the lower cushion device may be deformed to protrude toward the front and rear seats.
VEHICLE SEATING ASSEMBLY WITH ANCHORED AIRBAG TETHERS
A vehicle seating assembly is provided herein. The vehicle seating assembly includes a seatback coupled to a seat-base. An airbag assembly is coupled to the seatback and configured to deploy therefrom. A tether is coupled to the airbag assembly and at least one of the seatback and the seat-base. An anchoring feature is coupled to at least one of the seatback and the seat-base and is configured to restrain seating-assembly-upward movement of the tether.
AIRBAG SYSTEMS WITH PASSIVE VENTING CONTROL
Airbag assemblies and venting assemblies are disclosed. An airbag assembly includes an airbag cushion and a venting assembly including a vent, one or more shear tethers, and a peel tether. The shear tether(s) are configured to be drawn to a taut state by expansion of the airbag cushion to configure the vent in a first venting state. The shear tether(s) are releasably coupled to the peel tether. The releasable coupling is configured to keep the shear tether(s) releasably coupled to the peel tether. The peel tether is configured to transition from a slack state to a taut state as the airbag cushion continues to expand. When drawn taut, the peel tether produces a peel force transverse to the shear force. The peel force causes the releasable coupling to release and the peel tether to uncouple from the shear tether(s), to transition the vent to a second state.
Oblique impact airbag mitts and related systems and methods
Airbag cushions and airbag cushion assemblies comprising mitts or bends for mitigating injuries during oblique impacts. In some embodiments, the cushions may be configured to deploy so as to extend adjacent to an occupant in a vehicle laterally of the occupant and form a mitt configured to receive the occupant's head and/or thorax during an oblique impact event. The airbag cushion may comprise a first portion configured to, upon deployment, extend laterally of the occupant towards a front portion of the vehicle and a second portion configured to, upon deployment, extend at an angle relative to the first portion so as to form the mitt.
Airbag tether release
An airbag system includes an airbag. The airbag system includes a base defining a track extending from a first end to a second end. The airbag system includes a carrier releasably fixed to the base and removable from the base at the second end. The airbag system includes a tether extending from the carrier and secured to the airbag. The airbag system includes a spring disposed at the first end. The spring is disposed between the carrier and the base. Upon application of a force to the carrier, e.g., via the tether when the airbag is inflated, the carrier is released from the base and compresses the spring. Upon removal of the force, the spring urges the carrier toward the second end where the carrier is ejected.
REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG DEVICE
A rear seat side airbag device includes: a case provided inside a vehicle cabin side portion in correspondence with a rear seat, the case being open substantially toward a vehicle front side; an inflator accommodated inside the case, the inflator configured to generate gas at a time of vehicle collision; and a side airbag accommodated inside the case and is configured to receive a supply of gas from the inflator and inflates and expands, the side air bag including a distal end portion being fixed to a region of the case or a vehicle body, which region is at a vehicle width direction inner side with respect to the inflator.
Side airbag device
A side airbag of a far side airbag device includes a rear inflation section that inflates and deploys on being supplied with gas and restrains at least rear portions of the chest and abdominal regions of a seated occupant, and a front inflation section that inflates and deploys by being supplied with gas through a through hole formed at a boundary between the rear inflation section and the front inflation section to restrain at least front portions of the chest and abdominal regions of the seated occupant. The far side airbag device includes a tension member that, on receiving tension and adopting a deployed state accompanying inflation and deployment of the side airbag, has a front end side connected to the rear inflation section, and a rear end side connected to a seatback frame.
