Disclosed is a far-side airbag. Each section of the far-side airbag introduced in the present specification deploys in a different direction. That is, the far-side airbag introduced in the present specification comprises: a first inflation section that deploys in a reference direction; and a second inflation section that is connected to the first inflation section and deploys in a direction inclined by a set angle from the reference direction. This far-side airbag manufactured in such a configuration sufficiently supports occupants and does not rotate, and can thus safely protect the occupants.

ACTUATOR DEVICES AND ASSEMBLIES FOR AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY DEVICES

An actuator device with an actuator cup having a first end and a second end. The actuator cup defines a storage chamber containing a pyrotechnic material to produce gas. The storage chamber also includes a coolant. At least one electrical connection coupled to the first end, the electrical connection in reaction initiating communication with the pyrotechnic material. The second end of the actuator cup includes a concave surface before actuation of the pyrotechnic material and during the actuation of the pyrotechnic material the second end transitions from the concave surface to a convex surface.

Lateral occupant engagement cushions

Lateral airbag cushions for preventing or inhibiting inboard occupant excursion. Some embodiments may comprise an inflatable cushion configured to deploy adjacent to a vehicle seat laterally of a vehicle occupant and a tether coupled with the inflatable cushion. The tether may be configured to be coupled to the vehicle seat at opposite ends and may be configured to, upon deployment, form the inflatable cushion into a pocket or other lateral engagement structure adjacent to the vehicle occupant to engage a shoulder and/or arm region of the vehicle occupant to prevent or at least inhibit inboard/lateral excursion during an impact event.
