INSULATING DOUBLE-KNIT FABRIC
An insulating, double-knit fabric containing a first knit layer and a second knit layer coupled with the first knit layer through a plurality of first direction spaced apart rows in a first direction and a plurality of second direction spaced apart rows in a second direction which is perpendicular to the first direction forming a plurality of air pockets in a grid pattern. The fabric also contains a plurality of intermediate fiber regions positioned in the plurality of air pockets, where each of the intermediate fiber regions contains a plurality of rows of multi-filament fibers extending parallel to at least one of the first and second knit layers. The first knit layer and the second knit layer comprise a plurality of flame resistant fibers, a plurality of cellulosic fibers, and a plurality of modacrylic fibers blended together.
ADAPTIVE PLANAR SHIFT GARMENT MATERIAL
Articles and methods of using and making adaptive garment portions are provided. An adaptive garment portion is one that has shifting surfaces with apertures that shift from an aligned to an offset orientation depending on environmental conditions/stimuli. For example, a first surface material and a second surface material may be coupled by a responsive material portion. The responsive material portion may physically change in response to a change in environmental conditions internal or external to the garment (e.g., thermal energy, moisture) and/or stimuli (e.g., light energy, electrical energy, magnetic fields). The physical change in the responsive material portion facilitates the planar shift of the first surface material relative to the second surface material.
Dynamic materials integrated into articles for adjustable physical dimensional characteristics
Systems and methods of integrating dynamic materials into articles for adjustable physical characteristics, e.g., aesthetic, functional. For example, in response to a human's body heat, a dynamic material may change shape to allow additional permeability in an article of clothing. Similarly, in response to the presence of moisture, an article of clothing may close a vent to prevent the introduction of rain into an internal portion of the article. The shape changing material may change shape that merely affects a feature formed by the shape changing material. Additionally, it is contemplated that the shape changing material may change shape that affects a geometric structure of the article as a whole, e.g., protrusions, dimples, vents, etc.
Baffle constructs for insulative fill materials
The inventive subject matter generally relates to shaped battle constructs for use in consumer products, such as garments and sleeping bags. In certain aspects, the shaped baffles are arranged in a multi-level construction of baffles wherein the baffles are offset in two or more levels. In certain aspects, the entire construct is a unitary woven, seamless construction.
OUTERWEAR
The present invention provides an outerwear that offers a slender silhouette to a wearer with a light weight and a high degree of protection against cold. The outerwear (1) of the present invention includes a front (10), a back (11), sleeve parts (12), and side parts (13). The front (10), the back (11), the sleeve parts (12), and the side parts (13) are provided with cold protection regions (R1, R2, R4, R5) filled with a cold-proof material. The front (10) includes a down region (R1) filled with down in the upper part of the front. The back (11) includes a down region (R2) filled with down in the upper part of the back. The sleeve part (12) includes a cotton region (R4) filled with a cotton material over the sleeve part. The side part (13) includes a cotton region (R5) filled with a cotton material in the lower part of the side part.

INFLATABLE ITEM
The invention describes an inflatable item comprising one or more cells with a padding material, being inflatable and/or deflatable by controllably changing volume of air accumulated in said padded cells, so as to regulate a thermal insulating property of the cells. The invention further relates to techniques for providing and controlling of such an item.

INSULATING FILL MATERIAL
The invention provides an insulating fill material comprising a blend of fibres, the fibres comprising cashmere guard hair. The fill material typically includes at least 50% cashmere guard hair. The blended fibres are preferably formed into a non-woven web, which is lapped to provide a plurality of layers (101). The invention also provides products incorporating the fill material, such as bedding and garments.
Soft robotic fabrics and methods for same
An embodiment of a robotic fabric has a first fabric layer and an actuator that is configured to have a first state and a second state. A property of the first fabric layer is different when the actuator is in the first state as compared to the property of the first fabric layer when the actuator is in the second state.
