Apparel layer system
Aspects herein are directed to an apparel layer system configured to provide variable levels of insulation, warming, or air permeability. The apparel layer system comprises a first layer of material and a second layer of material both extending in a first planar direction. A third layer of material is positioned between the first and the second layers of material and is selectively affixed thereto. An adjustment mechanism coupled to the second layer of material can be mechanically manipulated to shift the second layer of material between different positions or states to achieve variable levels of offset between the first and second layers of material in the first planar direction and in a second direction perpendicular to the first planar direction.
BIODEGRADABLE TEXTILES, MASTERBATCHES, AND METHOD OF MAKING BIODEGRADABLE FIBERS
A masterbatch is disclosed, along with associated methods, and biodegradable filaments, fibers, yarns and fabrics. The masterbatch includes 0.2 to 5 mass % CaCO.sub.3, an aliphatic polyester with a repeat unit having from two to six carbons in the chain between ester groups, with the proviso that the 2 to 6 carbons in the chain do not include side chain carbons, and a carrier polymer selected from the group consisting of PET, nylon, other thermoplastic polymers, and combinations thereof.
MODULAR TURNOUT GEAR WITH FULL BODY BARRIER GARMENT
A modular turnout personal protective garment is described that includes a full body barrier garment fabricated from a moisture barrier layer. The full body barrier garment may optionally be worn alone or under one or more of a separate jacket and trouser portion. The jacket and trouser portion are fabricated from an abrasion resistant layer and a thermal insulation layer and are configured to be worn over the moisture barrier full body barrier garment layer.
Heat shielding composite cloth
The present invention relates to a heat shielding composite cloth (100) comprising at least one pair of layers (11, 12) movably connected to each other by one or more Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) wires (103). The invention also relates to garments incorporating such heat shielding composite cloth (100).
WEATHER-RESISTANT-AND-INSULATED APPAREL
A weather-resistant-and-insulated apparel, including a torso portion to cover at least a portion of at least one of a chest, a torso, and a back of a user, a collar to cover at least a portion of at least one of a neck and a chin of the user, the collar including a hood connected to the collar to cover at least a portion of a head of the user, and a face shield removably connected to at least a portion of the hood to prevent at least one of air and precipitation from entering the hood, a plurality of arm portions to cover at least a portion of at least one of an arm and a shoulder of the user, a pelvic portion to cover at least a portion of at least one of a waist, a hip, a crotch and buttocks of the user, and a plurality of leg portions to cover at least a portion at least one of a leg and a knee of the user.

CLOTHING ARTICLE
A clothing article that at least partially covers at least one selected from among (i) a lower limb and (ii) an upper limb, including: a plurality of heat-retaining parts having a higher heat-retaining property than other parts of the clothing article, the plurality of heat-retaining parts including at least one of the following groups: (i) a knee part, a heel part, and a digital part for a lower limb; and (ii) a wrist part, an elbow part, and a digital part for an upper limb, a heat release part being provided to (i) at least one digital part, among the digital part for the lower limb and the digital part for the upper limb, which at least one digital part is included in the clothing article or (ii) a part adjacent to the at least one digital part, the heat release part having greater breathability than other parts of the clothing article.
Insulated vented garment formed using non-woven polymer sheets
Aspects herein provide for a method of manufacturing a vented insulated garment using non-woven polymer sheets and garments produced therefrom. The method generally comprises providing a non-woven polymer sheet having one or more voided portions, positioning the sheet between two textile layers, and bonding the textile layers together at areas corresponding to the voided portions in the non-woven polymer sheet to form a seam. The seam may be optionally perforated.
INSULATING DOUBLE-KNIT FABRIC
The invention related to an insulating, double-knit fabric comprising an outer knit layer and an inner knit layer coupled with the outer knit layer forming a plurality of elongated air pockets in a plurality of rows. Only the outer layer comprises a plurality of windows, where the air pockets comprise intermediate fiber regions and the intermediate fiber regions comprise fibers positioned parallel to the inner and outer knit layers.
