BODY WRAP
20210378427 · 2021-12-09 ·

An insulating body wrap includes a superior end with a superior opening and an inferior end with an inferior opening. A top layer including a fabric extends between the superior opening and the inferior opening and a back layer including a ripstop material extends between the superior opening and the inferior opening. Batting is provided between the top layer and the back layer and a slit extends between the inferior opening and a point intermediate the inferior and superior openings. A method for manufacturing an insulating body wrap includes forming a quilt having a superior edge, an inferior edge, a first side edge and a second side edge and attaching the first and second side edges to form a sleeve having a superior opening and an inferior opening. A slit is formed extending between the inferior opening and a point intermediate the inferior and superior openings.

METHOD FOR JOINING TOGETHER TWO PROTECTIVE MATERIALS AND PROTECTIVE GARMENT COMPRISING AN ARTICLE MADE USING THIS METHOD
20210368899 · 2021-12-02 ·

The present invention relates to a method for joining a first protective material (10) together with a second protective material (20) consisting of a thermally insulating fabric having a mesh configuration. The method comprises the steps of: providing a plurality of separate gluing points (30) on an inner surface (14) of the first protective material (10); hot-pressing the second protective material (20) onto the first protective material (10), in order to melt the plurality of separate gluing points (30), so as to firmly fix the second protective material (20) to the first protective material (10). The present invention relates furthermore to a protective garment, in particular for motorcyclists, comprising an article made using this method.

COLD-WEATHER PROTECTION GEAR HAVING BATTING

A cold-weather protection gear is provided, which can prevent leaning of batting, can be stored in a compact manner as compared with a case where non-woven cloths are superposed, is excellent in heat insulation and in feeling on the skin and is also excellent in productivity. A sleeping bag 1 which is an example of the cold-weather protection gear includes a first core strand 11 and a first effect strand 12 located between a lining 2 and a surface cloth 3. A plurality of the first core strands 11 are aligned at an interval in a second direction Y and extend in a first direction X. The first core strands may be a bundle of plural pieces thereof for use. A plurality of the first effect strands 12 extend from each of the first core strands 11 to the periphery of the first core strands 11 and interlace with the batting 4.

Biodegradable textiles, masterbatches, and method of making biodegradable fibers

A masterbatch is disclosed, along with associated methods, and biodegradable filaments, fibers, yarns and fabrics. The masterbatch includes 0.2 to 5 mass % CaCO.sub.3, an aliphatic polyester with a repeat unit having from two to six carbons in the chain between ester groups, with the proviso that the 2 to 6 carbons in the chain do not include side chain carbons, and a carrier polymer selected from the group consisting of PET, nylon, other thermoplastic polymers, and combinations thereof.

Insulated garment
11737503 · 2023-08-29 · ·

The technology described herein generally relates to a garment that is insulating yet light weight, which may provide protection from the elements without weighing down the wearer. The garment in accordance with the technology described herein comprises a layer of thermally insulating sheet material having one or more voided portions in place of conventional down or other synthetic thermally insulating materials. The one or more voided portions allow the thermal insulation to be light weight and adequately protective in cooler/cold weather, without adding motion hindering bulk to the garment.

3-fabric layer insulation material and a method and an arrangement for producing the same
20220143953 · 2022-05-12 · ·

This invention describes a 3-layer insulation material comprising a first fabric layer, a second fabric layer and a third fluted intermediate fabric layer between the first and the second fabric layers, the fluted intermediate fabric layer being attached alternately to the first and the second fabric layer with longitudinal seams forming longitudinal channels for the insulation material having individual insulation material bundle inside each longitudinal channel. Also disclosed are a method and an arrangement for producing the same.

Article of apparel including insulation

An article of apparel including insulation material is discussed. The insulation material includes an insulating layer formed of waterfowl fibers and synthetic fibers. The waterfowl fibers are present in an amount of at least 20% by weight of the insulating layer. The insulating layer is generally free of waterfowl plumage.

ARTICLE OF APPAREL INCORPORATING A ZONED MODIFIABLE TEXTILE STRUCTURE
