COMMUNICATIONS TARPAULIN

Embodiments of the present invention relate to communications tarpaulins. In one embodiment, the communications tarpaulins include a textile layer, a plurality of antenna elements, and a communications hub. The communications hub includes a plurality of radio frequency (“RF”) connectors. The communications hub is affixed to the textile layer. The RF connectors are each conductively coupled to one of the antenna elements. The RF connectors each demountably receive a communications device. The antenna elements are each affixed to the textile layer and includes a conductive composition. The antenna elements each include a conductive composition. The conductive composition includes a polymer and fully exfoliated single sheets of graphene that are present as a three-dimensional percolated network within the polymer. The textile layer includes a first textile layer and a second textile layer that are coterminous and physically coupled together and thereby form a multilayered structure.

Described are flame resistant composite articles and methods for making and using. A flame resistant composite article is described comprising a facial layer, a meltable layer, a heat reactive material, and an inner layer that provide lightweight flame resistance and can accommodate printing and a large number of appearance options.

Zoned Insulation Garment

Aspects herein relate to a garment having zoned insulation features. The zoned insulation features comprise projections that extend in the z-direction with respect to the surface of a base material forming the garment such that the projections face toward a body surface of a wearer when the garment is worn. The number and/or size of the projections may vary over the garment depending on the amount of insulation needed in different areas of the garment.

Flame Resistant Fabrics Having Fibers Containing Energy Absorbing and/or Reflecting Additives

Embodiments of the invention relate to flame resistant fabrics containing fibers having at least one energy absorbing and/or reflecting additive incorporated into the fibers. Inclusion of such fibers into the fabric increases the arc rating/fabric weight ratio of the fabric while still complying with all requisite thermal protective requirements.

THERMAL LINER FOR PROTECTIVE GARMENTS

A nonwoven for use in a thermal liner for protective apparel includes 1-45 wt % of a first inherently heat resistant fiber excluding an aramid, and a balance of a second heat resistant fiber. The nonwoven excludes wool and has a thickness less than 3 mm and a basis weight of less than 2.9 osy (100 gsm). In another embodiment, the insulating layer for protective apparel includes a nonwoven including an inherently flame resistant fiber and fibers being inherently resistant to moisture absorption. The inherently flame resistant fiber is different from said inherently resistant to moisture absorption fiber. The nonwoven has an equivalent or better thermal protective performance (TPP) and a lower basis weight than an industry standard nonwoven consisting of a nonwoven of para-aramids or meta-aramids or a blend of both.

Fabric Material That is Resistant to Molten Metals

Fabrics and garments are disclosed that have dual protection against molten metal splashes and electrical arc flashes. The fabrics can be made from spun yarns containing an intimate blend of fibers. The fibers contained in each yarn can include wool fibers, flame resistant cellulose fibers, and nylon fibers. In one aspect, relatively long wool fibers are incorporated into the yarns.

LINEMAN TROUSERS
