A pendent face mask is adapted to transition between a facially protective state and a folded state. The pendent face mask includes a foldable, air-permeable facial cover, a plurality of guides, and a suspension system. The suspension system suspends the facial cover in the folded state from a user's neck, and adjustably secures the facial cover in contact with the user's face in the facially protective state. The suspension system includes left and right segments that are drawable to form left and right ear loops.

A fine cover particularly for use with respirator facemasks comprises one or more components, each defined by a perimeter, holding flexible, breathable material. The components expand to cover part of a respirator facemask and fold smoothly to close exposed surfaces during removal, thereby preventing pathogen shedding. The cInstitute of Medicine, 2006 Reusability of Facemasks During an Influenza Pandemic: Facing the Flu; losed unit is placed in a bag for cleaning, disposal, or testing. Samples taken from fine cover can be tested to detect airborne pathogens, an optimal airborne pathogen monitoring system in medical facilities. In addition, the fine cover may have graphical imagery to directs an observer's gaze in the same patterns followed when looking at an unmasked face, thereby reducing subconscious interaction anxiety.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE APPARATUS WITH MESH SHIELD
20210339269 · 2021-11-04 ·

A personal protective apparatus, having a wearable support member and a mesh shield securable thereto. The mesh shield may include first and second air-permeable conductive layers secured to the wearable support member and a first air-permeable non-conductive layer received between the first and second air-permeable conductive layers to separate them, and a portable power supply coupled to the mesh shield with a negative high voltage lead to the first air-permeable conductive layer and a positive high voltage lead to the second air-permeable conductive layer. The mesh shield may be a flexible mesh shield, and include at least one air-permeable layer secured at a first layer upper end to the wearable support member to hang from the wearable support member, the at least one air-permeable layer including at least one of an anti-virus material and an anti-microbial material. A fibrous filter layer may overlay an outer surface of the mesh shield.

An article of apparel is formed that is effective to regulate the temperature of the wearer. In an embodiment, a thermal regulation composition is obtained comprising a binder, a cooling agent, a latent heat agent, and a heat dissipation agent. The thermal regulation composition is printed to a surface of a textile by pressing the thermal regulation composition against the textile surface such that the binder adheres the cooling agent, latent heat agent, and the heat dissipation agent to the surface of the textile, thereby forming a thermal regulation membrane, and the textile is incorporated into an article of apparel.

Medical face mask with clear portion

A facemask includes an air-filtering portion comprising an air-permeable filtering media; a see-through portion in the filtering media; and a layered portion on each opposing side of the see-through portion. The see-through portion is configured so that, in use, a mouth of a wearer is visible therethrough, and is formed from a transparent film covering a void in, and fixed along its periphery to, the filtering media. The film extends across the length of the facemask, including over the void, forming layered portions of film on filtering media on opposing sides of the clear-portion. A method of manufacture includes removing, e.g., kiss-cutting, the air-permeable filtering media away to form the see-through portion, after layering the film onto the filtering media.
