Lining material extends from an upper portion of the back panel to a bottom portion of the back panel and is coupled to the two arcuate portions such that the two arcuate portions are separated by the lining material. The compression layer material has a higher elastic modulus than a respective elastic modulus of the lining material.

In one illustrative embodiment, one exemplary convertible garment may include a multilayered textile body having a central opening, which can be arranged in a first conformation to serve as an insulated jacket or poncho that features a hood disposed at the central opening, and, may include hand-warming and security pockets and a yoke with a closeable recess. Such a convertible garment can be arranged in a second conformation to serve as an insulated ground cloth and reversed to serve as a protective cover or blanket. The garment may feature an attached storage pouch that is stowed in the yoke recess in the first and second conformations. In a third conformation, the garment may be folded and stowed in the storage pouch to serve as a vented cushion.

In one aspect, a multilayer jacket wearable by a child comprises an outer jacket layer made from a first, compressible material and an inner jacket layer made from a second material that is either non-compressible or significantly less compressible than the first material. The jacket includes a pair of layer interconnection fasteners configured to fasten together anterior panels of the respective jacket layers. Each fastener is situated on a respective side of a vertical jacket midline along a line from a first respective point at or near a bottom edge of the jacket to a respective shoulder of the jacket. The fasteners are sufficiently spaced to accommodate between them a fastened child safety seat harness when the outer jacket layer is open and portions of the anterior panel of the outer jacket layer are folded open at the respective fasteners.

A personal protective device (PPE) including a face cover assembly and a bodysuit configured to be worn by a human user. The device protects users against airborne aerosol particles containing viruses or other infectious agents while enabling improved flexibility relative to prior art designs. The device includes a helmet-like” rotating face cover assembly that fits over the user's head and attaches to a collar on the biohazard bodysuit. This rotating face cover assembly has a plurality of different mask sides, each with differing geometries or other properties. The device enables a user to rotate (either manually or by electric motor) the masks and select a given mask side that best meets that user's needs. The different mask sides can accommodate different facial geometries, eyewear types, and use cases, such as operation in more hostile environments.
