PRIVACY APPAREL
Techniques are disclosed relating to apparel that incorporates features to facilitate changing. In some embodiments, a garment includes a garment structure formed of a fabric material. The garment structure includes a front portion operable to cover a front portion of a wearer's body and a back portion operable to cover a back portion of the wearer's body. The garment includes a first fastener mechanism extending along a first body side of the garment structure. The first fastener mechanism is operable by the wearer to join the front portion to the back portion to create a torso opening for the wearer. The garment further includes a second fastener mechanism extending along an inseam of the garment structure. The second fastener mechanism is operable by the wearer to join the front portion to the back portion to create a first leg opening and a second leg opening for the wearer.
Adjustable Garment
Adjustable garments are provided that have one or more features to adjust the length of one or more dimensions of the garment to fit a growing child. For instance, an adjustable jacket can have a series of stitches that allow for the adjustment of the length of a sleeve. A permanent hem stitch and a temporary stitch on the sleeve are arranged and constructed in a particular way to allow for the sleeve to extend as a child grows. In another example, adjustable pants can have a plurality of snap fasteners on an interior surface of a leg to adjust the length of the leg. The snap fasteners are arranged and constructed in a particular way so that a snap fastener at the distal end of the leg can selectively connect to the remaining fasteners to shorten the length of the pant leg.
Posture saver
The present invention relates generally to a garment for improving body posture that is lightweight, comfortable, discrete, adjustable, and easy to use, while requiring very little material with a low manufacturing cost. The present invention has scapular straps that are made of elastic fabric. One end of the scapular straps connect to a hook-and-loop panel near the waistline on the front of the garment, and the other end of the scapular straps connect to the back of the garment near the shoulder region. The invention has neither an elastic waist band, shoulder pads, nor straps that surround the shoulder and the arm. Since there are no straps surrounding the shoulder, the invention not only allows shorter straps to be used, but also prevents any seams from showing on the front of the garment. This allows the wearer to discreetly wear the posture correcting garment.
WATERPROOF BOOT TO PANT CONNECTION
An article includes a first garment, a second garment, and a waterproof fastener system configured to join the first garment to the second. The waterproof fastener includes: a first annular gasket, coupled to the first garment, the first annular gasket including a flexible substrate and a continuous groove radially oriented on the first garment such that an engagement direction thereof is oriented perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the first garment, and a second annular gasket coupled to the second garment, the second annular gasket including a second flexible substrate and a continuous rib radially oriented on the second garment such that an engagement direction thereof is oriented perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the second garment. The continuous groove is configured to receive the continuous rib to form a waterproof interference fit.
