PROTECTIVE GARMENT PROVIDED WITH AN INFLATABLE PROTECTIVE DEVICE AND ASSOCIATED INFLATING METHOD
The present invention relates to a protective garment (10, 110) provided with an inflatable protective device. The inflatable protective device comprises: at least one inflatable bag (12), suitable for moving between a rest condition, wherein it is in a deflated status, and an operating condition, wherein it is in an inflated status; an inflator device (14) coupled to the at least one inflatable bag (12) and designed for inflating the at least one inflatable bag (12), once the inflator device (14) is triggered; at least one acceleration sensor (16) suitable for detecting the acceleration undergone by the garment (10, 110) and a control unit (18) designed for processing the acceleration data detected by the at least one acceleration sensor (16) and for sending a triggering signal to the inflator device (14), when a crash situation is identified. The protective garment is characterized by further comprising a transmitting unit (20), (120) designed for sending an activation signal (15) outside the protective garment (10, 110) when the triggering signal is generated by the control unit 18 and a receiving unit (21, 121) suitable for receiving a signal (15) from outside the protective garment (10, 110) and generating the triggering signal of the inflator device (14) when the received signal (15) is recognized as an activation signal. The present invention also relates to a method for inflating an inflatable protective device of a protective garment.
GARMENT CONFIGURED FOR PROTECTING WEARER'S LEGS
A garment related to leg protection for hazardous activities. Darts and pleats sewn or otherwise constructed into such a garment to improve fit and contouring. The garment may comprise a belt assembly providing improved comfort and reduced fatigue and injury with pivot points adjacent a wearer's hips. The belt assembly may have a shape to mimic that of a human pelvis. Such a shape may facilitate the transfer of weight more directly onto the wearer's bone structure with less strain on the wearer's muscles.
Resilient prominence fabric and articles made therefrom
A fabric having resilient prominences on at least one surface is described for improved thermal protection, drag reduction and quick drying. Resilient prominences are bulges that extend outward from a fabric surface and trap some volume of air or other material therein. For example, a resilient prominence may be dome shaped and extend outward from the fabric plane. A resilient prominence is resilient in shape, whereby the resilient prominence may be compressed and then popped back into substantially the original shape. Reflective and/or absorptive materials may be configured on the surface of the fabric to provide camouflage from IR cameras. Reflective material may be configured on the fabric to reflect heat back to the wearer of a garment made with the fabric described.
Crash protection system
A crash protection system includes a base connectable to a support on an open vehicle or an animal. The base includes a front airbag module arranged proximate a front end of the base and a rear airbag module arranged proximate a rear end of the base. The front airbag module has a front airbag, and the rear airbag module has a rear airbag. The system further includes a belt system having a first belt connectable around a waist of a rider and at least one strap connecting the first belt to the base. A control system includes sensors that are monitored to determine whether a crash situation is present and the control system actuates the front airbag module and the rear airbag module and releases the base from the support when the crash situation is present.
ADJUSTABLE FACIAL CONFORMING FACE MASK
An adjustable face mask having a body conforming substantially to the facial structure of a wearer. The face mask is provided with a neck protector and removable filter and with a strip of fabric designed to push air down to the sides of the wearer's face in order to eliminate fogging of the wearer's goggles. The face mask can optionally provide neck protection with a descending neck member.
Apparel Power System and Method of Using the Same
An apparel power system and method of using such system is disclosed. The power system provides a source of electrical energy for electrically powered accessories attached or integrated to apparel worn by the user of a vehicle without requiring the use of wires and plugs connections between the user and the vehicle. The vehicle may be a snowmobile, ATV, UTV, motorcycle, watercraft and the like. The electrical power of the vehicle is transferred from the handlebar to a glove or a wearable adaptor. Holding of the handlebar by the user creates a contact allowing electrical energy transfer from the handlebar to the glove which is subsequently transferred from the glove to accessories attached or integrated to an item of clothing such as a coat using embedded wires or overlying connection to provide the apparel with the ability to power various accessories such as heated gloves, heated vest, power visor, visibility lights, cell phone, and the like.
SHOULDER PADS INCORPORATING CERVICAL SPINE PROTECTION DEVICE
Shoulder pad includes shoulder pads and a cervical spine protection device. The device includes an upper portion for engagement with a helmet when an axial force is applied to a portion of the helmet. The upper portion has a front section, a rear section, and side sections which have a top surface. At least one damper element is provided within the device. The top surface of the side sections has an apex higher than the top surface of the front section and the rear section when the device is worn. The axial force applied to the helmet is absorbed by the device and directed away from a cervical spinal column of the user by the device. The damper element, when the axial force is absorbed by the device, resistively collapses to attenuate the axial force. The device allows extension of the head and neck during athletic movement.
Garment combined with a device for the personal protection of a user
A garment having a portion suitable for being combined with an inflatable member for protecting a user is described. The portion of the garment includes a covering surface suitable for forming a covering for the inflatable member. The covering surface comprises at least one insert made of elastic material.
Protective Jacket for Motorcyclists with a Detachable Blazer
Some embodiments provide a protective motorcycle jacket with a detachable blazer for protecting a motorcyclist. The protective motorcycle jacket with a detachable blazer includes an outer layer comprising textile fabric for providing an appearance of a blazer, and an inner layer comprising abrasion resistant material for providing abrasion resistance to the protective motorcycle jacket with a detachable blazer.
Motorcycle forearm and shin glider
A forearm and shin glider for motorcycle cornering including a deformable base with slits that allow secure and comfortable fit to the rider's arm or leg. An abrasion resistant casing is attached to the base. This casing holds a set of abrasion resistant balls made of high speed smooth abrasion resistant ceramic. The abrasion resistant balls are located by bearings, also manufactured of ceramic. This device allows the rider to make contact with the ground for support during tight cornering maneuvers with substantially reduced and minimized friction. The abrasion resistant balls move smoothly within the bearings and casing and roll when contacting the ground, creating minimal friction but also providing substantial rider support. The glider device includes air ducts for air flow to reduce friction related heat. The glider device is attached to the rider's clothing using Velcro or hook and loop attachment devices.
