SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAINTENANCE OF WAY

A system may include an imaging device to obtain image data from a field of view outside of a vehicle. A controller may analyze the image data and identify one or more vegetation features of a target vegetation within the field of view. The vegetation features may be a type, a quantity, a distance, and/or a size of vegetation. A directed energy system may direct one or more directed energy beams toward the target vegetation responsive to the controller identifying the one or more vegetation features. A method may include analyzing image data from a field of view adjacent to a vehicle and determining one or more vegetation features of target vegetation within the field of view to be removed. The method may include directing a directed energy beam(s) onto the target vegetation. The directed energy beam(s) may be controlled based in part on the one or more vegetation features.

APPLYING AND USING FIDUCIAL MARKINGS ON AGRICULTURAL APPARATUSES
20230044622 · 2023-02-09 ·

Implementations set forth herein relate to using fiducial markings on one or more localized portions of an agricultural apparatus in order to generate local and regional data that can be correlated for planning and executing agricultural maintenance. An array of fiducial markings can be disposed onto plastic mulch that surrounds individual crops, in order that each fiducial marking of the array can operate as a signature for each individual crop. Crop data, such as health and yield, corresponding to a particular crop can then be stored in association with a corresponding fiducial marking, thereby allowing the certain data for the particular crop to be tracked and analyzed. Furthermore, autonomous agricultural devices can rely on the crop data, over other sources of data, such as GPS satellites, thereby allowing the autonomous agricultural devices to be more reliable.

WEEDING DEVICE
20220346298 · 2022-11-03 ·

A weeding device provides a solution to the problem of removing dandelions and other weeds from a lawn or other area. The core components of the invention are a shaft and handle arranged so that a user can remove weeds while standing, a cutting head and motor configured to cut weeds, and an herbicide injector configured to inject an herbicide into the weed. Generally speaking, the components are configured as follows: the handle is at one end of the shaft and the motor, cutting head, and herbicide injector are at a second end of the shaft. The cutting head is configured to rotate around the herbicide injector to cut portions of the weed while herbicide is injected into the weed by the herbicide injector.

AUTONOMOUS DEVICE FOR IN-FIELD CONVERSION OF BIOMASS INTO BIOCHAR
20230036555 · 2023-02-02 ·

Systems, methods and apparatus for the thermal conversion of biomass into biochar. A mobile platform may be used to maneuver a mobile biochar generation system within a field of biomass. The biomass may be harvested, preprocessed and pyrolyzed. After pyrolyzation, the biochar may be cooled to a predetermined temperature by integrating water and liquid nutrients into the biochar. The system may then control the application of the infused biochar by adjusting a spreading attachment and a plowing attachment.

Apparatus and Method for Electrically Killing Plants
