Antistatic or Electrically Conductive Polymeric Composition with Reduced Hysteresis

The present disclosure provides polymeric compositions with balanced electrical and mechanical properties exhibiting reduced hysteresis comprising an electrically insulating polymeric material, a first carbon black material having a statistical thickness surface area (STSA) of below 70 m.sup.2/g and an oil absorption number (OAN) in the range from 70 to 150 mL/100 g, and a second carbon black material having a statistical thickness surface area (STSA) of at least 100 m.sup.2/g and an oil absorption number (OAN) of at least 150 mL/100 g, wherein both carbon black materials are included in an amount below its respective percolation threshold concentration, with the total amount of the first carbon black material and the second carbon black material being sufficient to render the polymeric composition antistatic or electrically conductive. The polymeric compositions exhibit balanced electrical and mechanical properties and a reduced hysteresis. The disclosure also relates to a process for preparing such antistatic or electrically conductive polymeric compositions and articles produced from such compositions.

Method for preparing high-absorptivity silica as lutein carrier

The invention discloses a preparation method of high-absorptivity silica as lutein carrier. The method includes adding sodium silicate into a synthesis kettle, introducing steam for heating while stirring, adding water, stirring for reaction to obtain a reaction substrate A, and adding sulfuric acid to the reaction substrate A to obtain reaction solution B; simultaneously adding sulfuric acid and sodium silicate into the reaction solution B, performing synthesis reaction for a given period of time, stopping feeding of sodium silicate, adding sulfuric acid only for post-acidification, and aging to obtain dilute slurry D; and filtering the dilute slurry D, washing, slurrying, drying and packaging to obtain silica microspheres as lutein carrier. The invention accurately controls each process so that the prepared high-absorptivity silica as lutein carrier has high adsorption and good dispersibility and flowability after adsorbing lutein.

PIGMENTS CONTAINING CELLULOSE

An object is to reduce the occurrence of aggregation of an inorganic pigment that roughens the texture and dulls the color of a cosmetic containing the inorganic pigment. Porous pigment particles are provided which include cellulose or a cellulose derivative, and an inorganic pigment as main components. Also provided are a method for producing such particles, and a cosmetic containing such porous pigment particles. The particles are resistant to aggregation and are excellently dispersed in a base material to impart a color while improving the dullness problem. The particles of the present invention are porous particles that contain cellulose and have a wrinkle-like or fold-like uneven structure on the surface thereof (that is, have an appropriate amount of pores or voids). Thus, the particles of the present invention have soft and comfortable texture and are suitably added to cosmetics that are directly applied to the skin.
