Container, series of containers and method for treating liquids
The present invention relates preferably to ways of biologically treating liquids, and devices applicable in this respect. Processes and devices according to the present invention preferably relates to a system for biological treatment of liquid such as water, the system typically comprising a container having first and second gas supplies for creating a first and second circulating flow of liquid and bio-film carriers and preferably also for aerating the liquid. Preferred embodiments of a container according to the invention comprises an outflow channel extending along, and preferably throughout, a perimeter of an upper part of the container, the flow channel having a fluid penetrable wall section facing inwardly so that fluid may flow from the interior of the container, through the fluid penetrable wall section and into the outflow channel, and an outlet for leading fluid out from the outflow channel.
BIOLOGICAL FILLER COMPRISING 1,5-DIHYDROXYANTHRAQUINONE AND THIOBACILLUS DENITRIFICANS POPULATION AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME FOR NITROGEN REMOVAL FROM WASTEWATER
A biological filler includes an embedding agent and an embedded complex. The embedded complex includes a scallop shell powder, 1,5-dihydroxyanthraquinone, and Thiobacillus denitrificans. The embedding agent includes a poly(vinyl alcohol)-sodium alginate blend membrane and a crosslinked composite membrane. The embedded complex is embedded by the embedded agent.
A SIMPLE METHOD FOR DESICCATION AND REACTIVATION OF AEROBIC GRANULES
There is described here a method of desiccation of aerobic granules.
OVERCOMING BIOFILM DIFFUSION IN WATER TREATMENT
Methods and apparatuses for overcoming biofilm diffusion in water treatment by the addition of the substrate flux within biofilm by advection or convection in order to overcome diffusional limitations.
Hybrid wastewater treatment
A process for the biological treatment of wastewater in which the performance of a conventional activated sludge system is improved by adding an aerobic granular biomass system in a hybrid parallel process configuration. Waste biomass and suspended material from the aerobic granular biomass system is introduced into the conventional activated sludge system for this purpose. In the hybrid process configuration the advantages of both systems are combined to produce new advantages, while drawbacks of the individual systems are reduced to great extent.
Water treatment method
A method for the treatment of water, the method comprising the steps of anaerobic uptake and storage of at least a portion of the organic components in the water by a heterotrophic denitrifying biomass absorption of ammonium ions with an ammonium ion absorbent; and aerobic oxidation of the absorbed ammonium by a nitrifying biomass comprising ammonium oxidizing microorganisms, wherein the step of aerobic oxidation of the absorbed ammonium is preceded by the step of exposing at least a portion of the nitrifying biomass to atmospheric oxygen.
Residential water treatment and recycle system
Water treatment structures may have at least a first geotextile fabric layer; a second geotextile fabric layer; a third geotextile fabric layer; a first filler layer with plastic particles, arranged between the first and second geotextile fabric layers; and a second filler layer with plastic particles, arranged between the second and third geotextile fabric layers, wherein the geotextile fabric layers and the filler layers are within a housing, and wherein the structure is configured such that contaminated water proceeds sequentially through the first geotextile fabric layer, the first filler layer, the second geotextile fabric layer, the second filler layer, and the third geotextile fabric layer. Methods of treating wastewater may involve passing wastewater, after optional oxygenating and pre-filtering, through such alternating layers of geotextile, preferably nonwoven, and polymer particles.
Economical process for preparation of anaerobic granules for waste water treatment
The present invention relates to an anaerobic formation of granules for waste water treatment. More particularly, the present invention relates to the use and development of microbial consortia for stimulation of anaerobic digestion of organic matter and to a method for enhancing the granulation rate of suspended anaerobic sludge using carbohydrate rich industrial effluent.
