Waste Management System
A waste management system for plastic or other material floating on the surface and in the subsurface of a body of water. A shredding device will reduce the size of the particles of waste. Ocean water is removed by a drying device. The dried waste material is frozen to a temperature at or below minus fifty degrees Fahrenheit, using liquid nitrogen or other suitable means. The frozen waste material is then pulverized and ground into a powder. The powder may then be sprayed into a gas-filled chamber and heated. Temperature, pressure and humidity are maintained within the chamber for more than one minute. Microwave or other radiation and catalysts may be used to enhance the process of extraction. The processed material is then removed from the chamber. Carbon may be recycled or used as fuel by the ship. Water may be used by the ship or returned to the ocean.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING PURIFIED WATER
A method of providing a dispense purified water stream from a water purification apparatus involving passing a water inlet stream through a first water purification station to provide a first internal purified water stream, passing the first internal purified water stream to an internal reservoir, and providing a second internal purified water stream from the reservoir, passing the second internal purified water stream into a recirculation loop, measuring the conductivity of the second internal purified water stream; passing the second internal purified water stream to a second water purification station to provide a third internal purified water stream passing the recirculated water return stream into the internal reservoir; calculating the purity of the first internal purified water stream using the measurement of the conductivity of the second internal purified water stream.
Water treatment system
A UV reactor for disinfecting water. The UV reactor may include a cooling chamber in which heat from a UV source may be transferred to the water flowing through the UV reactor. The UV reactor may include driver circuitry operable to determine status information, such as health, of the UV source. The UV reactor may include a gas discharge path operable to substantially prevent accumulation of gas within a water treatment chamber.
Portable water purification systems and method of assembling same
A portable liquid filtration device includes a GPS tracking unit, a portable housing, an inlet configured to receive non-potable water, and an ozone chamber positioned within the portable housing. The ozone chamber is configured to generate an ozone gas from received air. The device also includes a filtration duct positioned within the portable housing and downstream from the inlet. The filtration duct includes at least one oxidation chamber configured to mix the received water with the ozone gas, and at least one ultraviolet (UV) chamber downstream from the at least one oxidation chamber and including a UV lamp positioned adjacent the water within the filtration duct. The device further includes an outlet positioned on the portable housing and downstream from the filtration duct. The filtration duct is operable to output at least 150 liters per hour of the received water from the outlet as potable water.
WATER GENERATION SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE THAT IMPLEMENTS SANITIZATION BY ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT
A water generation system for a vehicle comprises: a first container to collect liquid water generated from the condensation of water vapor; a filter to filter the liquid water, the filter in fluid flow communication with the first container; a second container to store the liquid water that the filter filtered, the second container (i) in fluid flow communication with the filter and (ii) configured to hold a larger volume of the liquid water than the first container; and a source of ultraviolet light that, when activated, emits the ultraviolet light into at least one of the first container and the second container. The water generation system can further comprise an agitator that is configured to agitate the liquid water disposed within either the first container or the second container, and a cooling element configured to withdraw heat from the liquid water within the water generation system.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING PURIFIED WATER
A water purification apparatus including a first water purification station for a first internal purified water stream. A valve selects either a first dispense purified water stream or a first continuing water stream or both. An internal reservoir receives the first continuing water stream to hold a volume of second purified water, and provides a second internal purified water stream. A second valve able dispenses the second dispense purified water stream. A second water purification station receives the second internal purified water and provides a third internal purified water stream. A third valve selects from the third internal purified water stream either a third dispense purified water stream, or a third continuing water stream, or both. A recirculation loop returns the third continuing water stream into the internal reservoir. A pump pumps the second internal purified water stream from the internal reservoir around the recirculation loop.
