Universal feeder with clamshell transfer screw
Exemplary apparatus or method implementations for a universal feeder system configured with a transfer screw feeder within a multi-section clamshell pipe permitting access to the feed screw and pipe interior for inspection, maintenance and/or cleaning during production, without disassembly or screw removal. The clamshell screw feeder pipe provides access to the screw by opening or removing the multi-section top portion of the clamshell pipe. The top pipe section is bolted and or hinges to the bottom portion of the clamshell pipe. The number of segmented multiple clamshell top sections depends on the length of the screw. One or more clamshell top sections may be configured with an inspection port. The universal feeder system configured with a transfer screw feeder within a multi-section clamshell pipe transfers feedstock feed from one or more feed vessels to one or more reactor vessel.
System for removing per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances from contaminated aqueous streams, via chemical aided filtration, and methods of use thereof
A system comprising an agitation and flocculation system and a particulate filter capture system, and optionally a feedback system and/or a water softening. The agitation and flocculation system configured to receive a contaminated aqueous stream and an anhydrite quantity, and comprising means for agitating the aqueous stream and a means for mixing the aqueous stream with the anhydrite, such that a precipitate of calcium sulfate hydrate+contaminant complexes is formed. Also, a system comprising a fixed-bed type cross-flow system and a particulate filter capture system, and a corresponding method of removing per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances from the contaminated aqueous stream. The method comprising the acts of: providing an anhydrite quantity; contacting and agitating the anhydrite quantity with a contaminated aqueous stream; and collecting the precipitate of calcium sulfate hydrate+contaminant complexes formed from the aqueous stream.
PROCESS FOR TREATMENT OF SEWAGE SLUDGE AND PRODUCT OF SAME
A process of treating sewage sludge and the formation of a granular product thereof, wherein said process comprises utilizing a urea-formaldehyde resin to treat a sludge product from thermal hydrolysis processes (THPs) to create an end product for agricultural and other uses. The process utilizes a high intensity mixing and chopping reactor, which combines the sludge with a resin and utilizes sulfuric or other mineral acid to polymerize the resin. The resultant product is subsequently dried and sized through a screening process. The process results in an end product that is a granular fertilizer that is substantially dehydrated and a substantial portion of the nutrients having low solubility and slow release rates. This reduces or eliminates the loss of plant nutrients to water runoff effects. The novel process results in a product that is a low-odor, enhanced fertilizer useful for the processing and utilization of sewage sludge for agricultural and other purposes.
