HYBRID ELECTRODIALYSIS AND ELECTROLYSIS SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES
Disclosed are systems and processes for the removal and conversion of pollutants in water. A system includes a set of electrodes with at least one electrode having an integrated catalyst material. The system is operatable in a first, electrodialysis mode in which one or more pollutants are separated from a feedwater stream, and a second electrolysis mode in which the separated pollutant(s) are catalytically converted into benign products by way of the catalyst material of the electrode. Electrodialysis and electrolysis are therefore carried out using the same unit.
Membrane wastewater treatment of combined sewer overflows and sanitary sewer overflows
A wastewater treatment system includes a biological treatment plant and an auxiliary, non-biological treatment plant. The auxiliary plant receives overflow, which can be sanitary sewer overflow, combined sewer overflow or strictly storm overflow. Treatment is by coagulation and membrane separation, removing most bacteria. Following treatment the outflow can be discharged to streams.
Underground Stormwater Storage System
A system and method for an underground stormwater storage system which may comprise a pit, a structure, and a liner. The structure may be disposed within the center of the pit and surround by the porous backfill and wherein outlets are disposed on the crown of the structure. A liner may form the outer layer of the pit. A method for releasing stormwater may comprise capturing stormwater from a surface, containing the stormwater within a structure, releasing a volume of the stormwater from the structure and draining an additional volume of the stormwater from the crown of the structure from an outlet when the structure is capturing more stormwater than it is releasing.
Water purification system and distillation unit
The invention relates to a water purification system and distillation unit. The water purification system (3) comprises an input section (31) for providing water (21), in particular tap water, to a distillation unit (1), and said distillation unit (1) for producing distilled water. Said distillation unit comprises an evaporation section (12) for evaporating said water (21) and producing steam (23), and a condensation section (14) for at least partly condensing said steam (23), producing distilled water. The system further comprises a first admixing unit (32), in particular a cartridge, which is arranged and configured in such a way that it is enabled for admixing compounds, in particular minerals, to said distilled water, producing enriched distilled water, and an output section (33) for dispensing said enriched distilled water. Said evaporation section (12) is provided by a heatable side (101) of a first Peltier effect device (10) and said condensation section (14) is provided by a coolable side (102) of said first Peltier effect device (10).
SATURATED LAYER STORMWATER FILTRATION SYSTEM
A saturated layer stormwater filtering system with down-flow layered multimedia filters is disclosed. The filtering system may include an upflow pretreatment chamber and a subsequent filtration chamber. It also includes a snorkel pipe as an adjustable head control or internal baffles. The system incorporates gravity powered partially saturated stormwater media filters to harness the potential energy of stormwater from downspouts and pumped flows from stormwater catchments to drive the polluted stormwater in a hydraulically controlled fashion by gravity through a series of filter media layers.
WATER TREATMENT DEVICE CONSTRUCTION STRUCTURE HAVING GRATING ROOM AND METHOD FOR CONSTRUCTING VARIOUS WATER SPACES/WATERSCAPING FACILITIES HAVING SAME COUPLED THERETO
A water treatment device construction structure having a grating room and a method for constructing various water spaces/waterscape facilities having the same coupled thereto are disclosed. The structure relates to a buried water treatment device for treating operation water such as tap water, groundwater, rainwater, and surface water through an environment-friendly method. A water treatment device construction structure having a grating room is coupled to civil engineering/landscaping facilities, or to fish farms that are to be constructed in view of the purpose of construction and productivity. The water treatment facility having a reservoir coupled thereto is provided in a predetermined position below facilities or on the lower-end or peripheral portion thereof in a buried/underground type. Accordingly, there is no burden in site selection; a large amount of operation water can be stored without degrading the aesthetic landscape; and natural energy can be used preferentially.
Devices for controlling erosion and storm water runoff
A storm water runoff and erosion control device includes a rigid frame covered by a layer of mesh material. The frame defines an interior space that is filled with filtration material. The device may be configured as a wattle having an elongated frame with a triangular cross-section. The wattle may be extended along the contour of a hill to reduce erosion, or it may be placed at the entrance to a drainage inlet to slow the velocity of, and filter sediment and contaminants from, water entering the inlet. Alternatively, the device may be a compact filter that is a cube, cylinder, sphere, or other suitable geometry. A plurality of these compact filters may be placed in the basin of a storm water drain, and piled sufficiently high to cover the outlet from the basin. Thus, all the water in the basin must pass through the compact filters before exiting.
A FITTING FOR A WATER TANK
A fitting, and method for mounting the fitting, to a water tank including a wall defining an inlet opening. The fitting comprising a solar shield for mounting to an edge of the wall, the edge defining the inlet opening. The solar shield including a base defining a lower region; at least a first arm extending upwardly from the base, the first arm having a portion that overlies an external surface of the tank when the fitting is fitted to the tank; at least a second arm extending upwardly from the base; and, a solar shield adapted to allow fluid to pass located, wherein the solar shield is adapted to snap fit into the inlet opening when the fitting is fitted to the tank without the use of additional fasteners, joiners and/or adhesives.
Systems and methods for stormwater management
A fluid management system including an inlet configured to receive pre-processed fluid is provided. The system includes a filtering apparatus configured to remove contaminants from the pre-processed fluid. The filtering apparatus includes a plate having a first opening. A first manifold pipe is disposed on the plate and includes one or more perforations and a second opening at least partially aligned with the first opening. A second manifold pipe is disposed on the plate and includes one or more perforations. Filter media is disposed between the first manifold pipe and the second manifold pipe and is configured to separate the contaminants from the pre-processed fluid. The system also includes an outlet coupled to the second manifold pipe to receive processed fluid from the filtering apparatus.
PARTITIONED WATER TREATMENT SYSTEMS WITH VERTICAL FILTRATION UNITS
The present invention supplies partitioned water treatment systems that possess a plurality of chambers and vertical filtration units, and are operative to control and filter surface runoff water. Such systems are typically placed inline with surface runoff water conveyance system infrastructure, such as pipes, channels, and water storage units.
