A washing system includes a housing, a drain line, and a recirculation line. The housing receives, via a fluid inlet, fresh water during one or more wash cycles of a wash session. The drain line is coupled to the housing and includes a valve and is also configured to receive soiled water from the housing during the wash session. The recirculation line is coupled to and extends from the valve of the drain line and is configured to receive a portion of the soiled water via the valve. The recirculation line includes an integrated fluid sanitizer module configured to at least partially sanitize the portion of the soiled water, and the recirculation line is configured to deliver sanitized water from the integrated fluid sanitizer module to the fluid inlet of the housing.

HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE WITH COAGULANT DOSING SYSTEM

Laundry treatment appliances for use in a typical household include a tub that has an opening to provide access to the interior and at least partially defines a treating chamber into which fabric items such as clothes, towels, or linens can be placed to undergo a washing operation. A system can be provided for recirculating wash liquid through the tub to reduce water consumption. At least one tank or reservoir and a coagulant dosing system can be included for the chemical treatment of wash water as part of the wash liquid recirculation system. The tank can also serve to separate coagulated solids from the wash water.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DISINFECTING FLUIDS

A disinfection apparatus and method is provided for disinfecting a fluid. The apparatus elements define three internal container volumes. Fluid is introduced into an entry volume where its flow is conditioned to reduce splash and slow the fluid flow. The fluid is then channeled into a disinfection volume where a disinfection unit delivers a disinfection agent to the fluid. Finally, the fluid exits the apparatus through an exit volume. In one aspect, a sink-trap is disclosed in which wastewater liquid contacts a pair of diverters. The diverters have conditioned contact surfaces that slows and spreads the liquid flow and reduces liquid splash. The wastewater then passes through a UV chamber in which it is disinfected. The liquid then exits the sink-trap. Advanced self-cleaning apparatus are additionally disclosed to clean and disinfect the sink-trap and trapped wastewater. The entire apparatus operates under computer control.

A water purification system can include an enclosed chamber having an evaporation region and a condensation region. The evaporation region can include an evaporation tower with a series of shelves to receive and increase a surface area of impure water while cascading downward from an upper shelf to lower shelves therebeneath as water evaporates therefrom to form water vapor within the enclosed chamber, and a fluid directing assembly to cyclically transport the impure water from a reservoir source to the upper shelf. The condensation region can include a purified water-receiving vessel and a plurality of water collectors. Individual water collectors of the plurality of water collectors can include an exterior surface coolable to a temperature below a dew point of air carrying the water vapor and shaped to channel water formed thereon by condensation to the purified water-receiving vessel.

A filtering device and a washing machine. The filtering device includes: a filtering cavity, which has a water inlet, a filtered water outlet and a sewage outlet for discharging filtered impurities. A filtering mechanism is inside the filtering cavity, to filter the water entering the filtering cavity. A blocking mechanism separates the inside of the filtering cavity into a first space and a second space. The water inlet is communicated to the first space, and the filtered water outlet is connected to the first space. The cleaning particles are in the first space in the filtering cavity. The cleaning particles can prevent the deposition of filtered impurities during the filtration process and avoid clogging of the filtering device. The blocking mechanism can prevent the cleaning particles from entering the second space, and from flowing out with the water flow from the filtered water outlet or the sewage outlet.

Water management system

A water delivery control system operates to selectively deliver water from a water source to water use devices. The system includes at least one controller that wirelessly communicates messages with a portable user device. The system includes a water control valve and a motor that is operative to selectively move at least one valve element of the valve. A water meter is operative to measure water flow that corresponds to flow through the valve. The controller is operable to cause the valve to enable or prevent flow through the valve responsive at least in part to water flow data. The controller is operative to determine a water use condition responsive to a water usage pattern, and to cause at least one message to be sent to the portable user device responsive to the determined water use condition.

Water management system

A water delivery control system operates to selectively deliver water from a water source to water use devices. The system includes at least one controller that wirelessly communicates messages with a portable user device. The system includes a water control valve and a motor that is operative to selectively move at least one valve element of the valve. A water meter is operative to measure water flow that corresponds to flow through the valve. The controller is operable to cause the valve to enable or prevent flow through the valve responsive at least in part to water flow data. An orifice cavitation device is disclosed herein which promotes cavitation at low operating pressures. An output opening has a sharp edge which facilitates cavitation. Moreover, an inner perimeter length may be increased by forming notches in the opening. Also, grooves may be formed on the inner surface of a funnel of the orifice cavitation device. The grooves may be straight and also spiral or slanted to encourage the water to rotate and increase shearing forces which also facilitates cavitation.

Metal Surface Treatment Using Oxygenated Water

A passivating system for stainless steel process equipment includes: an oxygenation system comprising a raw water inlet, an oxygen inlet, a porous membrane through which oxygen flows into the raw water to create oxygenated water and, an oxygenated water outlet; a fluid conduit providing the oxygenated water to a clean-in-place (CIP) system connected to the stainless steel process equipment; and, a control interface through which a user may circulate the oxygenated water through the piping for a selected time to improve the surface passivation after a cleaning cycle. The oxygenation system may be separate from the CIP system or they may be co-located on a skid or other common base. The oxygenated water preferably has a dissolved oxygen content of at least 20 mg/L.

The recirculation line is configured to receive a portion of water one or more zones, and includes an integrated fluid sanitizer module configured to at least partially sanitize the portion of the water from the rinse zone before it is returned to at least one zone.
