PLASMONIC TITANIUM NITRIDE-CONTAINING MIXED MATRIX MEMBRANES AND RELATED MEMBRANE DISTILLATION METHODS

A mixed matrix membrane that includes polyvinylidene fluoride and TiN nanoparticles may be useful solar-driven surface heating membrane distillation. The plasmonic character of the TiN nanoparticles may locally heat the membrane when exposed to sunlight, which increases the distillation flux across the membrane. Said distillation methods may be particularly useful for treating laundry wastewater to collect distilled water with a reduced concentration of chemical oxygen demand, a reduced concentration of total dissolved solids, and a reduce conductivity. The distilled water may be repurposed for a variety of purposes including agricultural irrigation with significant less impact on the aquatic ecosystem compared to the laundry wastewater.

Household appliance with coagulant dosing system

Laundry treatment appliances for use in a typical household include a tub that has an opening to provide access to the interior and at least partially defines a treating chamber into which fabric items such as clothes, towels, or linens can be placed to undergo a washing operation. A system can be provided for recirculating wash liquid through the tub to reduce water consumption. At least one tank or reservoir and a coagulant dosing system can be included for the chemical treatment of wash water as part of the wash liquid recirculation system. The tank can also serve to separate coagulated solids from the wash water.

Information processing device for optimizing filters that purify wastewater

Appropriately generate or update algorithms for a water circulation management system. In a filter management server having a processor for managing the water circulation management system equipped with various sensors including a treated water sensor and a drainage water sensor, for treating drainage water using one or more filters, the processor acquires, using the various sensors, predetermined information necessary for analysis of each of performance of the filters and status of use by a user of a water utilization unit. The processor generates, by analyzing the predetermined information and based on information from the various sensors, information related to timing of replacement of the one or more filters, and user use information including use status of a water utilization unit by the user and water use information including water pollution degree. The processor executes control to notify the user of the water use information and the user use information.

FILTRATION SYSTEM

The present disclosure provides a device, a system, and a method for filtering liquids, in particular for filtering gray water such that it can be reused for multiple purposes. Also provided is an optional step of purifying the liquid with a chemical such that the filtered liquid is also potable.

System for water distribution

A system for water distribution includes a core unit arranged to drive distribution of a water flow to one or more water user units; at least two water user units; and a control unit for operation of the system for water distribution. Two water user units have individual identities, and which the two water user units are connected to the control unit to enable for requesting for water of a certain flow and a certain temperature so that the control unit identifies which water user is making the request and then performs an activity based on the request.

BIOLOGICALLY INOCULATED SORPTIVE BEAD MEDIA
20250382211 · 2025-12-18 ·

A biologically active sorptive media is disclosed for sustainable contaminant removal in, for example, stormwater management systems. This technology addresses the technical problem of hydrophilic trace organic contaminants and dissolved-phase nutrients passing through conventional stormwater infrastructure, posing risks to groundwater and surface water quality. The biologically active sorptive media comprises a biopolymer matrix formed from alginate hydrogel, encapsulating sorbent materials (e.g., powdered activated carbon (PAC), iron-based water treatment residuals (FeWTR]), growth substrates (e.g., wood flour), and biodegrading organisms (e.g., white rot fungi). These beads enable rapid sorption of contaminants during storm events and subsequent biodegradation during inter-storm periods, renewing sorption capacity. The beads are mechanically robust, scalable, and stable for extended periods in high ionic strength solutions. Applications include bioaugmentation of green stormwater infrastructure (GSI), wastewater treatment, and bioremediation. This approach transforms GSI science by coupling sorption and biodegradation for enhanced contaminant removal.
