MODULAR LIQUID WASTE TREATMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
A modular liquid waste treatment system is disclosed. In accordance with some embodiments, the system includes a central distribution unit and one or more treatment fins in flow communication therewith. The distribution unit may be configured to receive liquid waste from a given source and distribute that waste, at least in part, to one or more treatment fins. In turn, bacteria present in a given treatment fin treat the liquid waste, and the resultant treated liquid may drain from the fin to the surrounding environment. In some embodiments, a given treatment fin may include porous media providing a large surface area on which bacteria may grow to facilitate treatment. The system may be installed in and/or above the ground, and in some cases may be surrounded, at least in part, with treatment sand and/or other treatment media. The system may be used in aerobic and/or anaerobic processing of liquid waste.
Wastewater treatment method and device
Installation and method for processing wastewater, comprising: a) providing wastewater for processing; b) reducing O2 content of said wastewater by unactivated aerobic digestion; c) subsequently to ‘b’, eliminating substantially all O2 from said wastewater by anaerobic digestion; d) subsequently to ‘c’, transferring said wastewater to a closed photobioreactor; and e) subsequently to ‘d’, maintaining said wastewater in said photobioreactor in conditions favorable for algal photosynthesis, thereby allowing algae to grow in said photobioreactor. A method for growing algae is also disclosed whereby time, density and flow speed are controlled. The photobioreactor may have a conduit with two proportions of different cross sections.
Water Reuse System
A water reuse system is disclosed. The system can be directed to space or terrestrial applications. The system combines electro-oxidation, granulated activated carbon, and reverse osmosis techniques in a manner that requires lower power and less use of chemicals for water purification than existing space recycle/reuse systems
Method and apparatus for residential water recycling
A wastewater recycling system includes a biological reactor having anaerobic, anoxic, and aerobic chambers. A lift station including a pump is operatively connected to the biological reactor. The lift station receives biologically treated liquid from the biological reactor and pumps the liquid from the lift station. A filtration subsystem is operatively connected to the lift station. The filtration subsystem receives and filters the liquid pumped by the lift station. The filtration subsystem includes a salt-rejecting membrane filter comprising a concentrate recirculation conduit operatively connected to recirculate salt-rejecting membrane filter concentrate to a point along the wastewater recycling system upstream of the salt-rejecting membrane filter, thereby forming a salt concentration loop between said point along the wastewater recycling system and the salt-rejecting membrane filter. A post-filtration subsystem is operatively connected to receive salt-rejecting membrane filter permeate, and comprises a water disinfection system that disinfects the permeate thereby generating potable water.
Liquid treatment device and liquid treatment method
The present disclosure provides a liquid treatment device and a liquid treatment method each capable of efficiently generating plasma and treating a liquid in a short time period. A liquid treatment device according to the present disclosure includes a first electrode, a second electrode disposed in a liquid, an insulator disposed surrounding the first electrode through a space, the insulator having an opening portion at a position in contact with the liquid, and a power supply that applies an AC voltage or a pulse voltage between the first electrode and the second electrode.
Apparatus for treating wastewater and a system for collecting and treating wastewater combining rainwater drainage
The present invention relates to an apparatus for collecting and treating wastewater (1) based on biodegradation-recombination-biodegradation process, comprising: a shell (1.1), the space inside the shell is divided into a first chamber (1.2) and a second chamber (1.3) by a divider wall (1.4), wherein: the first chamber (1.2) contains biological medium suitable for heterotrophic microorganisms growth; the second chamber (1.3) contains biological medium suitable for autotrophic microorganisms and heterotrophic microorganisms growth. The present invention also relates to a system for collecting and treating wastewater combining rainwater drainage used for building, comprising: at least one wastewater treatment apparatus (1) above; a indoor pipe system for collecting and transferring wastewater, rainwater comprising a main vertical pipe (2), substantially horizontal branch pipes; and a outdoor pipe system for transferring wastewater combining rainwater drainage comprising a horizontal pipe (3) for connecting the indoor pipe system for collecting and transferring wastewater, rainwater to at least one wastewater treatment apparatus (1) above.
System and method for collecting and utilizing heat from an effluent disposal system
A system and method for collecting heat generated by the microbial action in a septic system effluent disposal area that is then transferred to a building structure where it may provide, for example, the temperature differential for a heat exchanger in a heat pump, thereby being the energy source for heating and cooling buildings.
ELECTROHYDROMODULATING PROCESS FOR RECOVERING NUTRIENTS, MINERALIZING ORGANICS, AND INACTIVATING PATHOGENS IN WASTEWATER
A system for electrohydromodulation of wastewater. In an embodiment, the system comprises an anode in contact with at least one anodic chamber and a cathode in contact with a cathodic chamber. Each anodic chamber and the cathodic chamber are configured to receive a flow of wastewater. A first multivalent cation exchange membrane, between each anodic chamber and the cathodic chamber, allows multivalent cations to pass therethrough while preventing monovalent ions to pass therethrough. A power source is electrically coupled to each anode and the cathode, and is configured to apply a voltage across wastewater in the anodic chamber and the cathodic chamber, to thereby cause multivalent cations in the wastewater to pass through the multivalent cation exchange membrane.
