Systems and processes for treating textiles with an antimicrobial agent

According to an aspect of the present disclosure, a method of treating a textile with an antimicrobial agent over a plurality of laundry cycles each including a wash cycle and a treatment cycle is described. The method includes (a) receiving a textile in a wash system for a first laundry cycle, (b) initiating a wash cycle comprising a detergent, (c) initiating a post-detergent treatment cycle comprising dosing the textile with a solution having a predetermined concentration of an antimicrobial agent that comprises a metallic ion, and (c) repeating steps (a)-(c) for each of a plurality of additional laundry cycles. The predetermined concentration is insufficient to achieve a predetermined antimicrobial efficacy for the textile due to the first laundry cycle alone but sufficient to achieve the predetermined antimicrobial efficacy for the textile due to a combination of the first laundry cycle and one or more of the plurality of additional laundry cycles.

Membrane filtration apparatus and process for reuse of industrial wastewater

Laundry, industrial or food processing wastewater is purified to the degree that it can be reused. Water quality is ensured through the final process of reverse osmosis (“RO”) which removes dissolved contaminants such as mineral hardness, soils and residual detergents. The process combines a ceramic tubular cross-flow membrane filter to remove the suspended solids, oils and greases ahead of the RO. The RO process employs high temperature, low fouling membranes. This enables the RO process to operate sustainably, i.e. without fouling, plugging or membrane degradation.

Located within the vessel and connected to the water inlet, is means (32) for causing circulatory motion of water entering the vessel sufficient to suspend the solid material within the body of water during passage of water through the vessel, whereby the pH of the water is caused to He within the range 7 to 11.

Water filter cartridge and mating parts

A water filter cartridge has a cap with radially oriented first and second (either inlet or outlet) flow channels on first and second generally cylindrical portions. First and second seals encircle the first flow channel on the first portion and third and fourth seals encircle the second flow channel on the second portion. The second and third seals form a void volume during use which may be accessed by a vent path to eliminate moisture or to test for or indicate leaks. The radial flow paths reduce axial, push out forces on the filter cartridge and allow smaller locking tabs to be used. The first seal forms a top void volume during use which may be accessed by a vent path to eliminate moisture or to test for or indicate leaks.
