Separating solids from liquids in a drilling fluid
Techniques for separating cuttings from liquid include circulating a drilling fluid that comprises a liquid and formation cuttings to a scree of a screen assembly that includes screen sections; vibrating the screen assembly during circulation of the drilling fluid; while vibrating the screen assembly, separating the liquid from the plurality of formation cuttings; while vibrating the screen assembly, separating a first portion of the formation cuttings of a first size from the drilling fluid with a first screen section; rotating the screen assembly; subsequent to rotating the screen assembly and while vibrating the screen assembly, separating a second portion of the formation cuttings of a second size different than the first size from the drilling fluid with a second screen section; directing the separated liquid through the screen assembly to a liquid outlet; and directing at least one of the first or second portions of the formation cuttings to a cuttings outlet formed in the screen.
Suction pile cofferdam
A disclosed subsea sediment separation and filtration system includes first and second separation devices, a spreader apparatus, and a storage device. The first separation device receives a water/sediment/oil mixture and from a subsea surface and separates the mixture into a first component containing cleaned sediment and a second component containing a water/oil mixture. The spreader apparatus disperses the cleaned sediment of the first component into a subsea environment of the spreader apparatus. The second separation device receives the second component from the first separation device and separates the second component into a cleaned water component and an oil component. The second separation device disperses the cleaned water component into a subsea environment of the second separation device and provides the oil component to the storage device. The first separation device may include a plurality of hydrocyclone devices, and the second separation device may include a high pressure hydrocyclone device.
REMEDIATION OF RAG LAYER AND OTHER DISPOSABLE LAYERS IN OIL TANKS AND STORAGE EQUIPMENT
The subject invention provides microbe-based products, as well as their use to improve oil production and refining efficiency by, for example, remediating the disposable layers in oil tanks and other oil storage units. In preferred embodiments, the microbe-based products comprise biochemical-producing yeast and growth by-products thereof, such as, e.g., biosurfactants. The subject invention can be used to remediate rag layer and/or other dissolved solid layers that form in water-oil emulsions. Furthermore, the subject invention can be used for remediating solid impurities, such as sand, scale, rust and clay, in produced water, flow-back, brine, and/or fracking fluids.
WASTEWATER TREATMENT EQUIPMENT AND TREATMENT METHOD THEREOF
A wastewater treatment equipment and a treatment method of a wastewater are provided. The wastewater treatment equipment includes: a microfiltration unit, configured to receive and filter a wastewater to obtain a solution; a membrane salt separation unit, configured to receive the solution and separate monovalent ions and multivalent ions from the solution to obtain a first solution including the monovalent ions and a second solution including the multivalent ions; a first evaporative crystallization unit, configured to crystallize the first solution to form a monovalent salt; and a second evaporative crystallization unit, configured to crystallize the second solution to form a mixed salt; the microfiltration unit is connected to the membrane salt separation unit, and the first evaporative crystallization unit and the second evaporative crystallization unit are both directly connected to the membrane salt separation unit, the wastewater treatment equipment can achieve the standard discharge of wastewater.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PRODUCING ELEMENTAL SELENIUM DURING SELENATE REMOVAL FROM WATER
The present invention relates to systems and methods for removing selenate and/or selenite from water and recovering elemental selenium.
SI REMOVAL FROM AQUEOUS STREAMS OF MINERALS PROCESSING PLANTS
A method for removing soluble and/or colloidal Si-compounds from an aqueous stream of a minerals processing plant is provided. The method includes adding coagulant(s) and/or flocculant(s) and/or flotation chemical(s) to the aqueous stream in order to facilitate formation of flocs comprising at least some of the Si-compounds, and in order to form a treated aqueous stream, subjecting the treated aqueous stream to cleaning flotation in order to separate at least some of the Si-compounds as a cleaning flotation overflow, and removing the cleaning flotation overflow. The cleaning flotation comprises gas bubbles, at least 90% of the gas bubbles having a diameter of from 0.2 to 250 μm.
COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR TREATING AND REMEDIATING AQUEOUS WASTE STREAMS
An apparatus for treating a stream of contaminated water having an elevated concentration of at least one of light metals, heavy metals, sulfates that includes at least one process fluid inlet communicating with a process conduit; at least one electrode reaction vessel in fluid communication with the process conduit, the reaction vessel having an interior chamber and at least one electrode positioned in the reaction chamber, the electrode powered by a alternating current source; and at least one magnetic field reaction vessel in fluid communication with the process conduit, the magnetic field reaction vessel having an outwardly oriented surface and an opposed inwardly oriented surface, the magnetic field reaction vessel having at least one magnet in contact with the inwardly oriented surface of the magnetic field reaction vessel.
