MODIFICATION OF HALLOYSITE MINERAL ADSORBENT BY DENDRITIC POLYMER IN CONVERGENT SYNTHETIC ROUTE AND ITS APPLICATION
20180345247 · 2018-12-06 ·

The method relates to the modification of mineral adsorbent particularly halloysite in the form of clay or tube using dendritic polymer for treating wastewater containing ionic or nonionic water pollutants such as heavy metal ions, dyes, surfactants, high molecular weight coagulants and mineral oils. The method will increase surface activity of the adsorbent and can be applied to create positive or negative charges on the surface of the adsorbent. The modified mineral can be used as: adsorbent of pollutant such as dye, heavy metal ion, aromatic material from aqueous solutions, for removal of cations from aqueous solutions, for removal of anions from aqueous solutions, as filler in nano-composite, as nano-particle in polymeric membrane, adsorbent for soil, and special pharmaceutical application.

Methods and compositions for the treatment and recovery of purge solvent

The present disclosure relates to purge fluids, methods of using the purge fluids, and systems to be used for recycling the purge fluids. In some aspects, the purge fluid may be used to clean or purge an automated spray coating apparatus, such as a paint gun. The purge fluid may include a solvent and water. After the purge fluid is utilized for purging or cleaning certain system components, the purge fluid may be treated, subjected to a liquid-solid separation technique, and reused as a purge fluid.

PAINT OVERSPRAY TREATMENT COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USE

Overspray treatment compositions for addition to a water source located within a paint overspray waterwash system located in a spray-paint booth, or a water source that is subsequently applied to such a paint overspray waterwash system for contact with a paint overspray include an amine-functionalized colloidal silica having about 0.1 ?mol to 15.00 ?mol of amine functionality per square meter of silica surface area, and optionally a coagulant. The compositions and methods described herein work within a pH range of 6.5 and 10 to provide treated paint oversprays. Addition of a flocculant to a treated overspray results in formation of associated complexes having low tack, which may be cleanly separated from the aqueous treatment residue. The aqueous treatment residue may be subjected to one or more additional cycles of use in the paint overspray waterwash system.

FLOATING CHOPPER SLUDGE WEIR

A system for consolidating and removing contaminate such as paint sludge or oils from a fluid mixture. A contaminate tank receives a supply of the fluid mixture containing contaminate from a source such as a manufacturing line where overspray of paints or cleaning solutions containing washed away oils are collected. A free floating weir floats on the surface of the contaminate tank and mechanically separates and removes contaminate from a surface of the contaminate tank and concentrates contaminate in a consolidation tank. The free floating weir is equipped with several features that enhance the ability of the free floating weir to remove contaminate without becoming clogged.

APPARATUS FOR TREATING A SUBSTANCE WITH WAVE ENERGY FROM AN ELECTRICAL ARC AND A SECOND SOURCE
20180160694 · 2018-06-14 ·

A substance is treated using a device having: (a) a volute or cyclone head, (b) a throat connected to the volute or cyclone head, (c) a parabolic reflector connected to the throat, (d) a first wave energy source comprising a first electrode within the volute or cyclone head that extends through the outlet into the opening of the throat along the central axis, and a second electrode extending into the parabolic reflector and spaced apart and axially aligned with first electrode, and (e) a second wave energy source disposed inside the throat, embedded within the throat or disposed around the throat. The substance is directed to the inlet of the volute or cyclone head and irradiated with one or more wave energies produced by the first and second wave energy sources as the substance passes through the device.
