A method of treating water for use in aquatics or recreational facilities is also disclosed. The method includes fluidly connecting a media filter vessel to a source of water for use in aquatics or recreational facilities, illuminating a media inside the media filter vessel, observing a monochromatic light source display a first indicator and observing a monochromatic light source display a second indicator. A method of retrofitting a media filter vessel is also disclosed. The method includes installing a pressure sensor on the media filter vessel, installing a monochromatic light source and operably connecting the monochromatic light source to a manual control and to the pressure sensor.
Process for Treating Livestock Waste to Produce Fertilizers
These is provided a process and a system for treating a livestock waste and produce fertilizers. The process can include subjecting a livestock waste to a preparation treatment to produce a stabilized livestock waste, the preparation treatment including aerating the livestock waste with an oxygen-containing gas. The process can further include subjecting the stabilized livestock waste to a bioreaction treatment to produce an aerated livestock product. The bioreaction treatment can include aerating the stabilized livestock waste with an oxygen-containing gas that can be supplied by a distribution system to enable aerobic reactions to occur within the stabilized livestock waste. The aerated livestock product can include a solid component and a liquid component, and can be further separated in a solid-liquid separation treatment to produce respective fertilizers, or be used as is as a fertilizer.
Venturi bubble lighting
A water filtering system includes providing light deep into a liquid used in applications such as the cultivation of both attached and suspended photosynthetic organisms. The system is configured to inject a stream of bubbles into the liquid and a light source is configured to shines light through the bubbles. The bubbles allow some light to travel deep into the liquid along the length of the bubble stream and scatter/deflect some light out of the bubble stream and into the surrounding liquid including screens for growing algae.
System and method for water purification
The present invention is a water purification system and method including a treatment tank with a water inlet, a chlorine source, and a heating element; at least one storage tank with at least one treated water outlet between the treatment tank and the storage tank(s) through which treated water passes therebetween, and a final water outlet(s) through which treated water leaves the system for the benefit of the end user. A power source powers all elements that require power, such as the heating element.
METHOD AND SLURRY TREATMENT PLANT FOR REDUCING METHANE EMISSION FROM SLURRY
Disclosed is a method for reducing methane emission from slurry produced in a livestock farm. The method comprising the steps of guiding unheated slurry from the livestock farm to a slurry heat exchanger, raising the temperature of the unheated slurry in the slurry heat exchanger to at least 65# Celsius, guiding the at least 65# Celsius hot slurry to an intermediate slurry tank, raising the temperature of the heated slurry to at least 75# Celsius in the intermediate slurry tank, guiding the at least 75# Celsius hot slurry through the slurry heat exchanger to exchange heat with the unheated slurry to raise the temperature of the unheated slurry to the at least 65# Celsius and to cool the at least 75# Celsius hot slurry to at least below 40# Celsius, and guiding the at least below 40# Celsius cold slurry to a slurry reservoir. Furthermore, a slurry treatment plant for reducing methane emission from slurry is disclosed.
Livestock management
Livestock may be managed by a variety of systems, processes, and techniques. In particular implementations, the properties of water may be monitored by automated techniques and treated water may be provided to animals. In certain implementations, sick, or potentially sick, livestock may be provided with treated water to improve their health. The automated techniques may include monitoring the movements and/or water consumption of the livestock and predicting which ones may be sick based on their movements and/or water consumption. In some implementations, a water trough may contain multiple segments. The water properties in the segments may be maintained at different states.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATING AQUARIUM WATER
The present disclosure provides compositions and methods of use for effectively treating aquarium water in long term. The compositions include various components functioning to improve water quality, reduce or remove inorganic nitrogen and phosphorus, stabilize buffer capacity, and provide other advantages to aquarium water. Methods of using the compositions to improve the efficiency of treating aquarium water are also provided. The compositions and methods of the present disclosure can improve prophylaxis against unfavorable aquatic plant such as algae and extend life of animals in aquarium water.
PROCESS AND SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING FUEL
A process and/or system for producing fuel using renewable hydrogen having a reduced carbon intensity. The renewable hydrogen is produced in a hydrogen production process comprising methane reforming, wherein at least a portion of the feedstock for the hydrogen production process comprises upgraded biogas sourced from a plurality of biogas plants. Each of the upgraded biogases is produced in a process that includes collecting biogas comprising methane and carbon dioxide, capturing at least 50% of the carbon dioxide originally present in the collected biogas and producing the upgraded biogas. Storage of the captured carbon dioxide reducing a carbon intensity of the fuel, without having to provide carbon capture and storage of carbon dioxide from hydrogen production.
