APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING HYDRO-CYCLONE SEPARATION IN A FILTERING SYSTEM

An apparatus and method for optimizing hydro-cyclone separation in a filtering system is disclosed. The apparatus includes a first, second and third storage tanks, a pump, a motor, a variable speed drive, and a hydro-cyclone. The pump pulls fluid from the third storage tank and routes it to the hydro-cyclone where particles are separated out. The filtered fluid is then routed onto a mechanism, such as a car wash, where the clean fluid is utilized. Since the car wash cannot always use all of the filtered fluid, a controller monitor flow rate and fluid pressure, and operates a proportional fluid control valve to bypass some or all of the fluid routed to the car wash and redirect it back to the second storage tank. This process allows the hydro-cyclone to operate at maximum efficiency while flow to the carwash may vary. The dirty particles separated out by the hydro-cyclone are routed to the first storage tank.

Fluid purification device

A device and system for purifying a fluid is provided. The device includes a tank having a hollow interior and a lock feature. A cover is sealingly coupled to the tank. A release assembly is pivotally coupled to the cover and engaged with the lock feature, the release assembly having a relief valve fluidly coupled to the hollow interior and a lock member, the release assembly being rotatable between a first position and a second position, wherein the relief valve is in a closed position and the lock member is engaged with the lock feature in the first position, and wherein the relief valve is open and the lock member rotates away from and is disengaged from the lock feature in the second position.

A liquid cleaning system for living plants rests on a surface covered by a non-porous material. A plate layer covering the non-porous layer has two or more layers, each layer having runners arranged in a grid. The grid of each successive layer is offset at an angle with respect to the grid of a previous layer. An upper layer covers the plate layer and has a plurality of holes for the passage of liquids into the liquid cleaning system. As the living plants are watered or cleaned, excess liquids containing water and oils that were excreted by the living plants enter the liquid cleaning system through the holes, the liquid traverses the grid layers, flowing towards a drain. Contaminants within the liquid collect within the grid of the layers of the plate layer for later disposal.

Vehicle washing apparatus has a platform for supporting a vehicle and a filtering grid covering the platform. A hopper under the grid receives a combination of water after its use in washing the vehicle and waste removed from the vehicle surface by the washing. Larger solid matter is retained on the grid. The fluid combination is pumped from the bottom of the hopper to a clarifier having another hopper. Another pump is used to pump bottom-lying residue from the other hopper into a separator bag formed of mesh material permitting drainage of water from the separator bag into the clarifier while maintaining solids within the separator bag.

BIOREFINERY METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ISOLATED ENVIRONMENTS

A Biorefinery System (BIOSYS) that effectively treats all human activity-derived waste (black water, grey water, and food waste streams) using biological systems and that produces as process by-products: recovered potable water, liberated free oxygen, edible protein cake (with and without lipids), soil amendments, and machinery lube oils. Additionally, the system captures and chemically binds carbon dioxide into microbial cells and associated by-products, thus producing recovered usable returned cabin air.
