SYSTEM FOR REMOVING POLYMER PELLETS AND OTHER CONTAMINANTS FROM WATER RESERVOIRS
Systems for removing debris from a water reservoir include a moveable floating skimmer device positioned within the water reservoir and configured to receive floating debris, the skimmer device comprising an adjustable weir for capturing the debris and a receptacle for containing the debris; a discharge pipe connected to the skimmer device, the discharge pipe configured to receive the debris and a first portion of water from the receptacle in the skimmer device; a debris separator fluidly connected to the discharge pipe and configured to receive the debris and the first portion of water from the discharge pipe, the debris separator further configured to separate the debris from the first portion of water; a pump positioned between the discharge pipe and the debris separator and configured to transport the debris and the first portion of water in the discharge pipe to the debris separator via a pump outlet; and a recycle line connected to the debris separator and configured to return a second portion of water that exits the debris separator back to the water reservoir.
MONITORING SCHEME AND METHOD OF CORROSION AND FOULING REDUCTION FOR SCWO SYSTEM
A SCWO reactor fouling prevention and mitigation system that includes at least one feedstock tee which provides a feedstock to the SCWO reactor, at least one feedstock tee pressure sensor, such that each of the at least one feedstock tee has one of the at least one feedstock tee pressure sensor, at least one pressure sensor proximate a SCWO reactor inlet, and at least one pressure sensor proximate a SCWO reactor outlet. Also included is a controller which triggers a Clean In Place (CIP) procedure when there is a pressure difference between any two of the following, the SCWO reactor inlet, the at least one feedstock tee, and the SCWO reactor outlet. The CIP procedure includes washing a portion of the SCWO reactor with a fluid supplied through the at least one feedstock tee.
Apparatuses and methods for treating, purifying and/or extracting from wastewater
An efficient, cost-effective, and efficacious technique for removing coal ash and other pollutants from waterways, ponds, marshes, holding tanks and other water sources and supplies. An apparatus comprising an open cage including electromagnets and/or permanent magnets and/or electrodes is supplied with electrical power to extract materials such as rare earth elements and/or heavy metals. The materials levitate to the surface, forming a shiny while leaving water substantially free of such materials.
Oil-absorbent skimmers
Oil-absorbent skimmers of the present invention include an upper oil-absorbent flotation head that floats on water and several absorbent strands attached to the underside of the flotation head. The flotation head has a liquid-permeable cover with absorbent strips inside. The absorbent strips and strands are made of oil-absorbing materials that resist absorption of water. The passive oil-absorbent skimmers may be free-floating and may be used in stormwater catch basins, water holding tanks, vaults, sumps, bilges and the like for capturing hydrocarbons such as oil and oil-based liquids.
Plant for desalinating water of a water supply system and method for desalinating water of a water supply system by means of said plant
Plant for desalinating water of a water supply system, which comprises one or more tanks for accumulating water (2) in an immiscible manner, in order to store a softened supply thereof, provided with a first inlet connection (3) and with a first outlet connection (4) respectively connected to a feeding pipe (5) connected to the water supply system (50) and to an extraction pipe (6) for supplying users. The plant (1) also comprises a filtering unit (10) for water softening, for example obtained with a flow-through condenser (10″) or with a reverse osmosis membrane filter (10′), connected in parallel to the tank (2) with second inlet connection (11) and second outlet connection (12) respectively hydraulically connected to the first inlet connection (3) and to the first outlet connection (4) of the tank (2). Circulating means (13) are provided which can be activated to force at least one water flow to be treated to pass through the filtering unit (10), producing a filtered water flow, which is progressively stored in the tank (2) according to a filling direction (VI) thereof. Operatively, the feeding pipe (5) of the water supply system (50) forces, when the user requests water, a water flow intended for use to flow through the tank (2), causing the at least partial evacuation of the filtered water volume that was stored therein in an immiscible manner, in an evacuation direction (V2) opposite the filling direction (VI) with which the filtered water flow had been previously stored in the tank 2.
Phononic crystal desalination system and methods of use
Disclosed herein are systems and methods for desalination of salt water based on an engineered acoustic field that causes constructive and destructive interference at precomputed spatial positions. The engineered acoustic field can cause high-pressure and low-pressure regions where desalination membranes are located. The induced pressure from the acoustic field can force pure water through the membranes leaving ionic and dissolved molecular species behind.
SYSTEMS, APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR COLLECTING FLOATING DEBRIS
An exemplary system and method for collecting and processing floating solid debris from a body of water on a vessel includes a debris recovery conveyor extending off the vessel and which receives floating solid debris from the body of water and delivers it to a first debris processor which fragments at least some of the debris received into smaller debris pieces.
WATER REMEDIATION
Embodiments of the invention relate to removing suspended and solids from water using coagulating chemicals to coagulate the solids and hydrocarbon components to float the coagulated solids and where the same are removed from a water reservoir by mechanical means such as skimming.
Method and devices for remineralization or for correcting the ph of water produced in an aircraft
The invention relates to a method of remi-neralization and correction of pH for water produced by a fuel cell (P) on board an aircraft, noteworthy in that it consists in diverting part of the water (E1) produced by the cell to at least one treatment tank (200) containing a saturation reagent and in mixing the flow of treated water (E2) issuing from the treatment tank (200) with the undiverted flow of water (E3) so as to obtain water (E5) with the desired mineralization and/or pH. The invention also relates to devices making it possible to implement said method.
