AUTOMATED PERMEABILITY TEST FOR A FILTER BASKET
A method for automated cleaning of a filter basket in a bioreactor includes determining permeability of the filter basket. A control unit controls a suction unit for suctioning a residual liquid from the liquid tank, a liquid metering unit for dispensing a liquid having a predetermined liquid volume into the filter basket controls the suction unit to empty the liquid tank by suctioning a filtered liquid volume, measures the volume of the suctioned liquid volume, and sending a first measurement signal to the control unit. The control unit determines a permeability quotient from the volume of the extracted filtered liquid volume to the volume of the dispensed predetermined liquid volume and compares the permeability quotient with a permeability threshold. The control unit then controls a cleaning unit to perform a cleaning process of the filter basket if the permeability quotient is below the permeability threshold.
SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUS FOR MECHANICALLY REMOVING LIQUID FROM MATERIAL
A system for dewatering a material comprising a first storage for holding a material, the first storage operably connected to a slitter, wherein the slitter receives the material, seperates the material into a plurality of clumps, and deposits the plurality of clumps of material substantially evenly on a conveyor belt, wherein the conveyor belt is partially porous to allow water to pass through but preventing material from passing through the conveyor belt, and wherein the conveyor belt is operable to convey the material from the slitter to a compression zone; the compression zone comprises at least one high pressure press, the at least one high pressure press comprises at least one hydraulic actuator operably connected to at least one compression plate, the at least one compression plate having a top surface, a bottom surface, and plurality of side surfaces, wherein the at least one hydraulic actuator articulates the at least one compression plates to engage the material positioned on the conveyor belt; the bottom surface comprises a recess substantially proximate the plurality of side surfaces, wherein the recess receives a seal when the at least one compression plate actuates to engage the material on the conveyor belt so the seal forms a substantially water-impervious barrier between the at least one compression plate and the conveyor belt defining a cavity in which the material is compressed; at least one knife positioned proximate the at least one compression plate operable to remove material from the bottom surface of the at least one compression plate after a compression cycle; and at least one drain positioned under the conveyor belt to carry water removed from the material away from the conveyor belt.
Mobile extraction array with brine constituent separation, purification, and concentration
Apparatuses and methods for extracting desired chemical species including, without limitation, lithium, specific lithium species, and/or other chemical compounds from input flows in a modular unit. The input flows may be raw materials in which lithium metal and/or lithium species are dissolved and/or extracted. The apparatuses and methods may include daisy chain flow through separate tanks, a column array, and combinations thereof.
MODULAR WATER PROVISION SYSTEM FOR RURAL HOUSING
The present invention provides a transportable system is provided for locally providing hundreds of liters of water to a household, the system including a trailer carrier, adapted to be connected to a private car or vehicle, a water container in fluid connection with a filling apparatus and with a delivery apparatus, the filling apparatus comprising a filling conduit and a filing pump, a water filter apparatus, the delivery apparatus including a delivery conduit and a delivery pump, a portable electricity generator and an inverter, wherein the trailer carrier is adapted to carry the water container and water therein, the filling apparatus, the water filter apparatus, the delivery apparatus, the portable electricity generator and the inverter.
Windshield washer cowling
A windshield cowling and system for collecting and conditioning rainwater from the windshield of a vehicle and utilizing the collected fluid to replenish the fluids in a conventional windshield washer reservoir. Rainwater from the windshield cowling is directed through a leading edge to a conditioning cartridge capable of treating the fluid with a surfactant to form a mixed fluid. Hatches in the cowling allow access to the existing windshield washer fluid reservoir. The conditioning cartridge is disposable and accessible directly through the cowling.
SYSTEM FOR REMOVING POLYMER PELLETS AND OTHER CONTAMINANTS FROM WATER RESERVOIRS
Systems for removing debris from a water reservoir include a moveable floating skimmer device positioned within the water reservoir and configured to receive floating debris, the skimmer device comprising an adjustable weir for capturing the debris and a receptacle for containing the debris; a discharge pipe connected to the skimmer device, the discharge pipe configured to receive the debris and a first portion of water from the receptacle in the skimmer device; a debris separator fluidly connected to the discharge pipe and configured to receive the debris and the first portion of water from the discharge pipe, the debris separator further configured to separate the debris from the first portion of water; a pump positioned between the discharge pipe and the debris separator and configured to transport the debris and the first portion of water in the discharge pipe to the debris separator via a pump outlet; and a recycle line connected to the debris separator and configured to return a second portion of water that exits the debris separator back to the water reservoir.
Oil skimmer
An apparatus for removing oil or other pollutants from the surface of water, comprising a platform having a left side wall, a right side wall, a rear wall, a front opening, a floor, and a bottom, one or more ballasts which adjust the platform floor relative to a level of oil on the water surface, wherein the oil flows from the front opening across the floor to the rear wall, a rear location near the rear wall to collect the oil from the platform floor; and a pump connected to the rear location that removes the oil from the rear location to a storage area which does not affect the ballast of the platform. The skimmer vessel can work stationary in the water, and does not require a propeller means, as the oil will continue to flow into the skimmer as the oil is pumped out of the rear by the gravity flow to the rear of the vessel.
Apparatuses and methods for treating, purifying and/or extracting from wastewater
An efficient, cost-effective, and efficacious technique for removing coal ash and other pollutants from waterways, ponds, marshes, holding tanks and other water sources and supplies. An apparatus comprising an open cage including electromagnets and/or permanent magnets and/or electrodes is supplied with electrical power to extract materials such as rare earth elements and/or heavy metals. The materials levitate to the surface, forming a shiny while leaving water substantially free of such materials.
Waste management system
A waste management system for plastic or other material floating on the surface and in the subsurface of a body of water. A shredding device will reduce the size of the particles of waste. Ocean water is removed by a drying device. The dried waste material is frozen to a temperature at or below minus fifty degrees Fahrenheit, using liquid nitrogen or other suitable means. The frozen waste material is then pulverized and ground into a powder. The powder may then be sprayed into a gas-filled chamber and heated. Temperature, pressure and humidity are maintained within the chamber for more than one minute. Microwave or other radiation and catalysts may be used to enhance the process of extraction. The processed material is then removed from the chamber. Carbon may be recycled or used as fuel by the ship. Water may be used by the ship or returned to the ocean.
