The ozone chamber is configured to generate an ozone gas from received air. The device also includes a filtration duct positioned within the portable housing and downstream from the inlet. The filtration duct includes at least one oxidation chamber configured to mix the received water with the ozone gas, and at least one ultraviolet (UV) chamber downstream from the at least one oxidation chamber and including a UV lamp positioned adjacent the water within the filtration duct. The device further includes an outlet positioned on the portable housing and downstream from the filtration duct. The filtration duct is operable to output at least 150 liters per hour of the received water from the outlet as potable water.
Air scrubber system with pipe assembly for in-line mixing to create an oxidation reduction potential (ORP) in water
An air scrubber system including a system for creating an oxidation reduction potential (ORP) in water is disclosed. The system includes a pipe assembly for in-line mixing. The pipe assembly includes a first flow path for water to flow through. The first flow path includes one or more ozone intake ports that are fluidically coupled to one or more ozone output ports of an ozone supply unit. The pipe assembly further includes a second flow path fluidically coupled in parallel with the first flow path. The second flow path includes a control valve that selectively permits a portion of the water to flow through the second flow path to produce a negative pressure in the first flow path so that ozone is drawn into the first flow path through the one or more ozone intake ports and mixed into the water flowing through the first flow path.
LIQUID DISPENSING APPARATUS FOR A VEHICLE WITH A DISPENSER AND A SOURCE OF ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT TO SANITIZE THE DISPENSER
A vehicle comprises: a dispenser for a liquid, the dispenser comprising an outlet for the liquid; and a source of ultraviolet light disposed to emit the ultraviolet light onto the outlet of the dispenser. The dispenser further comprises a first position and a second position that is different than the first position. The outlet of the dispenser is disposed closer to the source of ultraviolet light when the dispenser is in the second position than when the dispenser is in the first position. The vehicle comprises a controller in communication with the source of the ultraviolet light. The controller causes the source of ultraviolet light to emit the ultraviolet light when the dispenser is in the second position but not when the dispenser is in the first position.
Self-treating electrolytic biocide generating system with recirculation
The present disclosure relates to a biocide generating system for inhibiting bio-fouling within a water system of a watercraft. The water system is configured to draw water from a body of water on which the watercraft is supported. The biocide generating system includes an electrode arrangement adapted to be incorporated as part of an electrolytic cell through which the water of the water system flows. The water system is configured such that biocide treated water also flows to one or more components of the water system that are positioned upstream of the electrode arrangement.
Solar powered water desalinator and method
A water desalinator that employs the use of solar concentration, evaporation and humidification, mimicking the natural hydrological cycle in a closed, modular vessel to produce freshwater from salt, brackish, brines and seawater, and a concentrate stream for further processing. Feed water is received and stored in a basin. Surface humidity is generated by the evaporation of basin water. A lens is used to focus sunlight, tracked the suns path based on biomimicry of a sunflower, on a thermal conductor. The thermal conductor has a rounded side-profile and generates a variable temperature across its radius. Water is pumped from the basin to a sprinkler head to be dripped or sprayed on the thermal conductor to generate water vapour. This water vapour consequently mixes with the air in the reaction vessel to increase system humidity. Humid air is removed from the reaction vessel and condensed in a condenser. Accordingly, the salinity concentration of input water is reduced from the output of the reaction vessel. Multiple reaction vessels or concentrators may be used in tandem to achieve improved performance.
METHOD FOR EFFICIENT COLLECTION AND DESTRUCTION OF PLASTIC WASTE IN BODIES OF WATER
Implementations of the present disclosure solve one or more of the foregoing or other problems in the art with methods for the collection and destruction of salt-coated plastic waste. In particular, one or more implementation(s) can include an insulated chamber comprised of a base containing a heat source and an air source, a bed of a fluidizable media supported above the base, a support tray suspended in the insulated chamber above the fluidizable media, and a humidification compartment located outside of and connected to the insulated chamber to humidify the salt-coated waste before it enters the insulated chamber. Systems and methods of the present disclosure can also include a salt wash station to impart waste with a highly concentrated salt solution to prime the waste for enhanced reaction time once it enters the insulated chamber. Accordingly, a waste destruction system is disclosed.
Method for disinfecting a water system of an aircraft
A method for disinfecting a water system of an aircraft includes letting-in of hot water at an inlet of the water system by a first ground service unit; flushing the hot water from the inlet, through water pipes of the water system, to an outlet of the water system; and letting-out of the hot water at the outlet, by the first ground service unit or a second ground service unit; the hot water being flushed into the inlet and out of the outlet over a predefined disinfection period; and the hot water being provided at the inlet via a continuous-flow heater of the first ground service unit.
Reactor for proximal and perpendicular radiation of electromagnetic waves on a thin fluid bed
The invention relates to an electromagnetic wave irradiation reactor (fixed, mobile or portable) suitable for the physical, dynamic, continuous conditioning of materials having the ability to absorb electromagnetic radiation, which need to be treated through electromagnetic irradiation, without coming into contact with the electromagnetic source. In particular, this invention aims to treat those materials which tend to reflect such radiations, which are translucent or difficult to penetrate to irradiation or simply dirty. The invention mainly exploits the postulates of Lambert, and Stefan-Boltzmann, that is, the physical assumptions of the transmission of electromagnetic energy by radiation and in particular the angle, concentration and proximity of the emission of energy between emitter and receiver (which varies with the square of the distance) and the intensity of the emission (which varies with the 4th power of the temperature).
