A permeable reactive barrier having two or more layers of a geotextile fabric inoculated with a bioremediation microbe is provided. The permeable reactive barrier further includes two or more layers of coarse-grained geological material separating the two or more layers of geotextile fabric such that any pair of adjacent layers of geotextile fabric is separated by a layer of coarse-grained geological material. The permeable reactive barrier includes a perforated metal casing surrounding and containing the layers of coarse-grained geological materials and geotextile fabric.
Granular sludge reactor system comprising an external separator
A method for treating an aqueous fluid containing a biodegradable organic substance in an installation that includes an upflow bioreactor containing a sludge bed, wherein the sludge bed includes biomass, an external separator, and a conditioning tank. The method includes treating the fluid in the conditioning tank; feeding the treated fluid into a lower part of the bioreactor and forming biogas; withdrawing the fluid from an upper part of the bioreactor, which withdrawn fluid includes biomass; feeding the aqueous fluid withdrawn from the upper part of the bioreactor into the external separator, wherein the aqueous fluid that includes the biomass is separated into a liquid phase and a fluid phase enriched in biomass; returning the fluid phase enriched in biomass from the external separator to the bioreactor; and returning a part of the liquid phase to the conditioning tank.
WASTEWATER AERATOR/DIGESTERS
A mixing aerator is disclosed that includes a housing defining a chamber having a bottom end and a top end, the housing having at least one inlet and at least one outlet; and a longitudinally extending diffuser disposed within the chamber and configured to deliver air bubbles into the chamber when the chamber is filled with liquid. The diffuser includes (a) a tubular elastomeric membrane having a plurality of perforations and, within the tubular elastomeric membrane, (b) an air pipe having a plurality of openings, the openings being larger and fewer than the perforations, and the tubular membrane having upper and lower ends that are sealed against an outer surface of the air pipe.

The present disclosure provides a strip-shaped sponge biological-packing mechanism, which comprises planar bracket groups distributed longitudinally, and the planar bracket groups include at least three parallel brackets. Packing units are arranged between upper and lower adjacent brackets, and the packing unit includes a sponge with a strip-shaped structure, two sides of the sponge are respectively provided with a tension belt, and a plurality of fasteners are arranged between two tension belts, two ends of the tension belt are respectively fixedly provided with a fastening, and the fastenings at both ends of the tension belt are detachably connected with two brackets respectively. The present disclosure also provides an installation method and a dynamic adjustment method of the strip-shaped sponge biological-packing mechanism.
AIR DIFFUSER
An air diffuser includes: a bottom panel provided in a horizontal direction in a tank in which water is filled; an air diffusion body installed to cover the bottom panel from above; and air diffusion holes arranged to penetrate through the air diffusion body, gas fed to a gap between the bottom panel and the air diffusion body is discharged into water through the air diffusion holes, and an air diffusion region of the air diffusion body where the air diffusion holes are arranged has a width equal to or larger than 10 mm and smaller than 120 mm.
Stormwater management system with internal bypass
The invention provides structures, methods, and assemblies for bioretention systems, including tree box filters with one or more internal bypass features incorporated into the tree box filter. The invention also provides methods and additional structures that are useful for managing stormwater flow and inhibiting the flow of pollutants, debris, and other contaminants into drainage systems.
DEVICE FOR CONVERTING BIOMASS TO REDUCED MEDIATOR, SYSTEM FOR CONVERTING BIOMASS TO DIHYDROGEN COMPRISING IT, AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
A device for converting biomass into a redox mediator in reduced form, including an assembly of microbial fuel cells including a first compartment including an anode and fermentative microorganisms and electroactive microorganisms, and a second compartment including a cathode and a solution including the mediator, and an external resistor connecting the cathode and the anode. The value of the external resistance of at least one microbial fuel cell is distinct from that of at least one other microbial fuel cell. The device thus makes it possible to induce segregation of fermentative microorganisms and electroactive microorganisms along the assembly.
