ATTRACTANTS FOR RATS
20180352802 · 2018-12-13 ·

Rat attractant compositions attractive to the rat species Rattus norvegicus are disclosed, which compositions are constituted of compounds found in the headspace volatiles of male urine odor or female urine odor. Said compositions are respectively termed male pheromone blend (MPB) and comprises 2-heptanone, 4-heptanone, 3-ethyl-2-heptanone, 2-octanone, 2-nonanone, and 4-nonanone in a ratio of 10:100:10:1:1:10 respectively, or female pheromone blend (FPB) and comprises 2-methyl-butyric acid, 3-methyl-butyric acid, heptanal, hexanoic acid, 2-phenylacetaldehyde, nonanal, and decanal in a ratio of 20:20:10:30:5:20:10. Devices including the rat attractant compositions, and methods of using said rat attractant compositions, are also disclosed.

Portable wildlife corral apparatus
10085438 · 2018-10-02 ·

An improved portable wildlife corral apparatus is used for capturing and containing wildlife. The apparatus has a frame; at least one selectively remotely controlled gate; at least one panel assembly; a plurality of lightweight panel members collapsible and foldable against the frame during nonuse, with the panel members being interchangeable with the gates on the panel assembly; and a monitoring system that monitors and alerts a user whenever wildlife enters the corral. When unfolded, the panel members may be easily configured to form one or more corral pens or panel sections by a single person. The apparatus further includes a detachable top cover of panel members that prevents wildlife from escaping from the top of the apparatus.

An apparatus for the capture and electrocution of pest animals is provided. The apparatus has a killing chamber, an electric accumulator, a high voltage transformer, three electrode plates located in the killing chamber and connectable to the high voltage transformer, and three stationary electrical contacts. A rotor having a horizontal rotating shaft and four axial walls, each with three electrode plates arranged consecutively in an axial direction, is lockable in four predetermined angular positions in each of which one of the four axial walls is horizontal and has the three electrode plates facing the killing chamber. Each axial wall of the rotor has three movable electrical contacts that are each connected to a respective one of the three electrode plates. The three movable contacts on a same one of the axial walls are temporarily and simultaneously connectable to respective stationary electrical contacts when the axial wall is horizontal.

Humane animal Venus Fly Trap
12108753 · 2024-10-08 ·

An improved animal trap comprising stationary 1 and moving frames 3 attached to support blocks 2, with torsion springs 4 that in the open position enable the trap to maintain a low profile mostly parallel to the ground, thereby eliminating the requirement of existing, commercially available traps that the animal walk beneath or through an unfamiliar object to be trapped. In the electronically triggered closed position, the frames form a complete enclosure around the animal, preventing its escape without injuring or immobilizing the animal. Magnetic or other attachments 8 to the perimeter of the moving frame hold the trap together in the closed position. The sides of the trap consist of soft textile material 5 instead of metal, reducing the risk of injury to the trapped animal. A transfer tunnel 23, attached from an opening in the side of the trap to a transfer cage 26, enables a quick and safe method of removing the animal for transport.

Mousetrap with disposable, hermetically sealing cartridge and internal high-voltage killing mechanism

A hermetically sealing, enclosure-type mousetrap is provided having a reusable housing and a disposable cartridge that contains an internal high voltage killing mechanism. Upon entry of a mouse into the cartridge through a rodent access opening, the opening is closed and the mouse is killed using the high voltage mechanism. Closure of the door hermetically seals the cartridge with the dead mouse inside, after which the cartridge can be disposed of without any contact between the user and the carcass along with any parasites and pathogens associated therewith.

A trap for catching animals, in particular muridae, is provided with a tank and a passageway, which extends above the tank from an entry and has, at the end, a container for a bait; the floor of the passageway is defined by a gangway, which opens to let an animal fall into the tank and is provided with two trapdoors hinged to one another; the first of said trapdoors is hinged about a horizontal axis, so as to tilt from a substantially horizontal position during the opening of the gangway, and has a counterweight to reclose the gangway; the gangway has an attach device which connects the second trapdoor to a fixed retaining device, so as to support the first trapdoor in its substantially horizontal position even when the first trapdoor is subject to a weight; the attach device is releasable when the weight rests on the second trapdoor.

SINGLE-HANDED TRAP

An animal trap for safely trapping animals that may be safely set with a single hand. The trap has a frame with an opening and a pair of doors that are pivotally affixed to the frame adjacent to the opening. The doors are movable between an open and closed position. A rotating assembly is connected to each door through a corresponding linkage that are pivotally connected to the rotating assembly and one of the doors. The rotating assembly is rotatably affixed to the frame and rotatable between a set position and a tripped position about an axis. A spring biases one of the doors toward its closed position and when the rotating assembly is in its set position. A trigger mechanism is pivotally affixed to the frame and has a set position and a tripped position, rotating the trigger mechanism will trip the trap.
