PEST MONITORING AND NOTIFICATION

A pest detection and notification system includes one or more pest monitors and notification badges or cards. Both the pest monitors and the notification badges are capable of short-range wireless communication. Upon detection of presence of a pest, a pest monitor generates and transmits a wireless pest event message. Any notification badge present within the transmission area of the pest monitor will receive the pest event message. Each notification badge includes one or more pest event indicators, such as an audible indicator, a visible indicator, and/or a vibration motor. Upon receipt of the pest event message, the notification badge activates one or more of the pest event indicators, thus notifying the wearer that a pest presence within the transmission area has been detected.

SENSOR FOR A WIRELESS ANIMAL TRAP DETECTION SYSTEM

An animal trap sensor includes a base having a distal end and a proximal end, a switch having a first metallic element and a second metallic element, and a signal unit, in which, when the first metallic element contacting the second metallic element, thereby forming a closed circuit, such that the signal unit transmits a signal to an off-site receiver. Or, an animal trap sensor includes a first portion and a second portion electrically connected with a signal unit including a power supply, in which, when the first and the second portions are disposed at a first distance between each other, thereby generating an output property, in which, when the first and the second portions are disposed at a second distance between each other, which is different from the first distance, thereby changing the output property and causing the signal unit to transmit a signal to an off-site receiver.

An animal trap features entrance encouraging mechanism for urging an animal into an enclosure of the trap. The mechanism features a pushing unit pivotally supported outside the interior space of the enclosure adjacent an access-way that opens into same. The pushing unit is pivotal about an axis generally parallel to a plane of the access-way for movement between a withdrawn position in which the access-way is unobstructed and a working position in which the pushing unit substantially obstructs the access-way. An actuator coupled to the pushing unit is triggered by an animal detection device at an approach area outside the enclosure within a travel path followed by the pushing unit, whereby the pushing unit urges the animal toward and through the access-way into the interior space of the enclosure. A one way gate prevents exit of the trapped animal after return of the pushing unit to the withdrawn position.

Method and apparatus for automated animal trapping

Methods and apparatuses are shown for selectively capturing a targeted animal that are directed to capturing an animal in a capture module having a one way capture mechanism and, using instructions executing in a controller, sensing the animal in an identification module and, responsive thereto, capturing an image of the animal, analyzing the captured image to identify whether the animal is a targeted animal, if the animal is the targeted animal, processing the animal, and releasing the animal. Additional examples involve performing chromatic or pattern analysis on the captured image, using the chromatic or patent analysis results, searching a database for machine recognized animal colors or patterns, generating a probabilistic assessment based on color or pattern of whether the animal in the identification module is the targeted animal, and generating a target determination indication based on the probabilistic assessment based on color or pattern. Processing the animal may include injecting the animal using a syringe.

PEST CONTROL DEVICE MOUNTING SYSTEM

Method and apparatus for a pest control device mounting system configured for mounting pest control devices in a building and using them to control pests. The pest control device mounting system including a mounting bracket, which may have a circumferential portion defining a portal. In some examples, the mounting bracket includes a flange portion suitable for attaching to the perimeter of a cavity in a building surface. The pest control device mounting system including a plug configured to be removably attached to the mounting bracket and to substantially close the portal when attached to the mounting bracket, wherein the plug is configured to accommodate a pest control device.

Pest-management apparatuses with separator to direct rodent movement and/or improve rodent contact with adhesive

Pest-management apparatuses (e.g., stations), such as, for example, that can be configured to permit a rodent to enter and retrieve a bait and/or become trapped (e.g., via adhesive or a snap-trap).
