METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR OXIDANT CONCENTRATION CONTROL
Methods and apparatus for controlling electrolysis in an electrolytic cell in order to maintain constant concentration of the disinfectant irrespective of the rate of electrolyte concentration or oxidant production in the electrolytic cell.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING FLUID FLOW IN AN ELECTROLYTIC SANITIZER GENERATOR
A system for detecting, fluid flow in an electrolytic sanitizer generator. The fluid flow detection system provides for an efficient detection of the flow of water across the electrodes or blades of an electrolysis cell. The fluid flow detection system in one embodiment includes an electronic fluid flow controller operatively coupled to the electrolytic sanitizer generator. In another embodiment the fluid flow detection system includes a light fluid flow detection system operatively coupled to the electrolytic sanitizer generator. In yet another embodiment, the fluid flow detection system includes both an electronic fluid flow controller and a light fluid flow detection system operatively coupled to the electrolytic sanitizer generator to provide redundancy to the flow detection system.
TECHNIQUES FOR MANAGING SCALE FORMATION IN WATER FILTRATION SYSTEMS AND A REVERSE OSMOSIS (RO) AND NANOFILTRATION (NF) SYSTEM IMPLEMENTING SAME
The present disclosure is directed to filtering technologies that combine elements of continuous and batch NF/RO based on the constraints of the end-user facility to achieve a target balance between, for instance, recovery and power consumption, and to reduce long term operating cost of a plant. A method for extending batch operation into a second induction period with antiscalant injection is also disclosed herein, with the second induction period allowing for yet higher water recovery.
METHOD OF HEAT SANITIZATION OF A HAEMODIALYSIS WATER CIRCUIT USING A CALCULATED DOSE
A method of sanitizing liquid for use in a medical device, the method comprising the steps of providing a medical device defining a water circuit with a volume of liquid, sensing the temperature of the volume of liquid with a sensor, heating the volume of liquid from an initial temperature to exceed a threshold temperature, maintaining the volume of liquid above the threshold temperature, determining a time-temperature value for the volume of liquid periodically once the threshold temperature has been exceeded, calculating a cumulative time-temperature value and providing an output signal once the cumulative time-temperature value has reached a level indicative of a sanitizing dose. A medical device and a liquid sanitizer are also disclosed.
Method and System for Treating and/or Purifying Water
The invention relates to a method for preferably continuous treatment and/or purifying of water encumbered by contaminants, in particular organic contaminants, preferably micropollutants and/or trace substances, in particular untreated water, preferably for purposes of producing and/or obtaining treated and/or purified water, in particular pure water, preferably drinking water and/or service water. The invention further relates to a water treatment system for carrying out said method and to applications thereof.
FLUID FLOW CONTROL FOR WATER TREATMENT SYSTEMS
Disclosed are devices, systems and methods for operation and control of gravity-fed fluid flows in water and wastewater related systems. The disclosed flow control system uses gravity to provide a flow of a fluid from a fluid source and a motorized flow control device fluidically coupled to the fluid source to control a defined flow rate of the flow by changing a position of an internal volume of the flow control device through which the fluid flows relative to a fixed level of the fluid in the fluid source. The disclosed devices, systems and methods can be used in a wide variety of systems for environmental and low-energy demand applications such as, for example, a wastewater treatment system to control a flow of wastewater in the system.
SYSTEM FOR TREATING BIO-CONTAMINATED WASTEWATER AND PROCESS FOR DECONTAMINATING A WASTEWATER SOURCE
A system and process for decontaminating a bio-contaminated wastewater fluid as from a slaughterhouse or similar facility. The system and process recovers purified vapor/steam through a decontamination unit having a plurality of alternating rotating trays and fixed baffles in a processing vessel producing separate purified and contaminant streams. One or more filter/strainer units are disposed in parallel before the decontamination unit, and may be used alternately while the other is cleaned. A rotating shaft connected to the rotating trays may also connected to an electrical generator to provide electricity for circuits and controls in the system.
PHOTOCATALYTIC FILTER, PURIFICATION DEVICE, AND PURIFICATION METHOD
A photocatalytic filter including first photocatalytic particles each of which is a composite of an adsorbent and titanium apatite, second photocatalytic particles each of which is glass coated with titanium apatite, a light source configured to emit ultraviolet rays, and a container accommodating the first photocatalytic particles, the second photocatalytic particles, and the light source.
System and method of rain water collection and purification
A system and method for collecting and purifying rainwater. The system includes a humidifier including a heat exchanger for preheating collected rainwater. The preheated water is output to a heater. The heater heats the water to between about 80 degrees C. and about 100 degrees C. The humidifier also includes a nozzle coupled to an outlet of the heater. The nozzle injects water vapor into the humidifier. The humidifier also includes a fan capable of circulating the water vapor in an inner volume of the humidifier. The water vapor condenses on an outer surface of the heat exchanger. The system also includes a collector for collecting the condensed potable water from the outer surface of the heat exchanger and a delivery system for delivering the potable water.
Apparatus and method for optimizing hydro-cyclone separation in a filtering system
An apparatus and method for optimizing hydro-cyclone separation in a filtering system is disclosed. The apparatus includes a first, second and third storage tanks, a pump, a motor, a variable speed drive, and a hydro-cyclone. The pump pulls fluid from the third storage tank and routes it to the hydro-cyclone where particles are separated out. The filtered fluid is then routed onto a mechanism, such as a car wash, where the clean fluid is utilized. Since the car wash cannot always use all of the filtered fluid, a controller monitor flow rate and fluid pressure, and operates a proportional fluid control valve to bypass some or all of the fluid routed to the car wash and redirect it back to the second storage tank. This process allows the hydro-cyclone to operate at maximum efficiency while flow to the carwash may vary. The dirty particles separated out by the hydro-cyclone are routed to the first storage tank.
